Blancco Vietnam has cooperated with the Dariu Foundation to find partners to sponsor about 4,000-5,000 devices (PC/, laptops and tablets) to ensure needy youth have access to computers and the internet for online learning.

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, pupils and students across the country have temporarily stopped going to school, so many schools have switched to teaching online and teaching remotely.

The 2021-2022 school year is taking place as the Covid outbreak is ravaging a large number of cities and provinces, dealing a heavy blow to business and social affairs, including education.

Many localities have closed schools due to rising Covid cases, making it impossible for millions of children and youths to return to school, forceing students in various localities to study online. However, most students in rural areas, remote areas or disadvantaged families in urban areas do not have and cannot afford to learning devices for students to learn independently.

Since 2020, the Dariu Foundation and its partners have been implementing the Bank of Laptops project to facilitate and support disadvantaged students to support their studies and learn online, reducing difficulties for students and their families, while contributing to improving students' academic achievements and job opportunities.

With the cooperation of Blancco Vietnam, the two sides are developing a plan to collect used technological and telecommunication equipment and applications from Blancco's customer partner network to enable students to learn without being disrupted by the ongoing pandemic, as well as have the opportunity to access modern learning equipment.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, as of Sept. 12, online teaching and learning has been deployed in 26 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country. The total number of students joining online studying is estimated at 7.35 million, but 1.5 million do not have computers.

The Dariu Foundation is a Swiss-based international NGO working in Vietnam since 2003, with activities focusing on microfinance, scholarships for poor students, funding to build kindergartens, computer skills training and financial education in their own mobile schools.

The foundation also recently announced emergency financial aid for 240 students from households with extremely difficult circumstances, affected by the Covid-19 in Lam Dong Province, Can Tho City and Hau Giang Province.

The aid will be given through local partners, including the departments of education and training of Lam Dong and Hau Giang provinces, and the Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations. These agencies will receive funding from the Dariu Foundation and deliver it to the students and parents on behalf of the foundation.

Since the fourth wave of the pandemic, the Dariu Foundation has supported Vinh Long province with 20,000 N95 masks, and 100 scholarships worth VND 500,000 each, supported other localities, and the national vaccine fund.

In addition, the foundation is also implementing programs to support computers, programming teaching equipment, and computer skills training for many schools in the provinces of Hoa Binh, Lam Dong, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, An Giang, and Can Tho, Soc Trang and Hau Giang.
