Samy and his girlfriend went to Thailand and Malaysia when they were in Southeast Asia. However, they spent most of their time in Vietnam. Each couple's journey here often lasts several months, with the focus on culture and cuisine in two places, Da Nang and Hoi An (Quan Nam).

Samy and his partner recently took a 5-star tourist train from Hue to Da Nang. He booked a train ticket that left Hue at 7:45 a.m. and arrived in Da Nang at 10:35 a.m.

The German guest said that he discovered this tourist train on the internet and was excited to take the journey "connecting the heritage of the Central region of Vietnam." He arrived at Hue station at 7 a.m. to enjoy a cup of coffee and explore the surroundings.

When the train was about to depart, the staff guided Samy and his girlfriend to get on board. He was impressed by how large, tidy, and beautiful each train car was.

Sammy was excited to witness singers performing Nha Nhac Cung Dinh Hue (Hue Royal Court music) on a train carriage decorated in a style of ancient royal traditions. Next to this car is the culinary carriage, which serves several Hue specialty cakes like banh it (sticky rice dumplings), banh bot loc (flour filter cake), and banh beo (water fern cake), as well as a variety of drinks for tourists to pick from.

Samy and his girlfriend got some breakfast. They chose banh mi, banh beo, banh beo, and banh bao before returning to their seats.

The German guest shared that as he arrived on a weekday, the number of guests was quite small. This also makes him feel more relaxed because the space is not tight or noisy.

The couple liked their meal and were surprised when the train's staff introduced them to banh mi prepared with green banana flour rather than wheat flour, as is normal.

In addition to the crust made from special ingredients, he was also impressed with the plump meat filling, served with vegetables.

“I have eaten banh mi many times in Vietnam, but this is the first time I have enjoyed bread made from green banana flour. There is a microwave on board for guests who need to heat up the bread so the crust is still crispy and delicious," commented Sammy.

He also likes the taste of banh bot loc and banh beo. "The banh beo is soft, succulent, and refreshing, and the banh beo is fragrant, slightly chewy, with the taste of shrimp," shared Samy.

In addition to the attractive cuisine, two foreign tourists expressed their appreciation for the stunning scenery along both sides of the road. When the train went through Hai Van Pass, Samy kept saying "Wow" and "So beautiful."

"I enjoy the feeling of looking out and seeing the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. The scenery is really impressive, and it deserves to be called the most beautiful railway in Vietnam," he added.

Samy reported that the trip took approximately three hours, but he was not uncomfortable or tired because the train had nice seats and air conditioning. Furthermore, seats are set up facing each other, directly near the window, so visitors can easily chat with each other while admiring the scenery.

During the 3-hour train ride, passengers may enjoy the gorgeous scenery on both sides of the route as the train passes Lang Co Bay, Hai Van Pass, and Tien Sa Beach. Besides, the trains stop at Lang Co station for 10 minutes so that guests can capture photos.

With two trains going from Hue to Da Nang in the morning and afternoon, travelers may also see the sunrise and sunset on Lang Co Bay, one of Vietnam's and the world's most beautiful bays.

A new train route called the ‘Central Heritage Connection,’ linking Hue City in Thua Thien-Hue Province with nearby Da Nang City in central Vietnam, commenced operations in March 2024.

The introduction of the route is part of the joint efforts by the two localities to bolster their connectivity and boost tourism.

It represents a novel offering combining transportation and tourism services, providing passengers with fresh and captivating experiences in history, culture, and heritage.

The train consists of 10 carriages, equipped with air conditioners and soft seats placed next to windows.

This arrangement allows passengers to enjoy the picturesque scenery along their trip between Hue and Da Nang, renowned as one of the most beautiful railway routes in Vietnam.
