GNI builds clean toilets in remote commune of Ha Giang province

After surveying and realizing that toilet rooms for students at Tan Bac Secondary school and Tan Bac People’s Committee did not ensure hygiene for students and officials, GNI decided to provide support for building a toilet room at Tan Bac Secondary school, which consists of 10 vaults (6 vaults for girl, 4 vaults for boy) and another toilet room in Tan Bac People’s Committee (1 vault for men, 1 vault for women).
Started in early October 2019, after 3 months, two works were completed with total building area of 80m2. Construction cost of clean toilets was VND 490 million (USD 21.236), totally was financed by GNI. By completing and handing over those works, GNI contributes to improving facilities for students and local people to use.
Good Neighbors International is a Korean non-governmental organization (NGO), established in 1991 working in the areas of water and sanitation, emergency relief, child protection, health, income generation. GNI is operating in almost 40 countries, supporting about 17 million people, including about 10 million children.
In 2005, GNI officially opened a branch and headquartered in Hanoi to implement community development projects in disadvantaged areas of Vietnam, in which GNI always focus on child protection, education, health promotion, clean water and sanitation, livelihood development, networking, mobilisation and emergency relief.
In December, GNI is one of 29 foreign NGOs honored and awarded the certificate of merit by the Committee for Foreign NGO Affairs for their outstanding contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development in period 2014-2018./.
