For many years, Vu Bich Cuong has never stopped following her own path of photography, even though this subject is not easy because photographing birds requires the artist to understand the animal’s behaviors. They will have to conquer the most extreme weather and wait for the perfect time to capture the moments.

Being a lover of nature and the wild birds of Quang Yen, her own hometown, Bich Cuong transformed her love into the pages and poems that she taught her students when she worked as a teacher.

But it was only in 2016, after Bich Cuong retired that she got a chance to buy her own camera and followed becoming a photographer.

The number of female photographers is only a few people in her hometown, and Vu Bich Cuong soon becomes famous since she started her career at the age of 60, which inspires a lot of people to live out their dreams.

For Vu Bich Cuong, success comes from passion, then the perseverance to overcome herself so that each work marks a mature step in her profession. She said that in order to be healthy with the camera, move gently and swiftly, and be flexible while working, she has exercised her strength by weight training and daily yoga practice. Besides, she has to take pictures in the early morning or at sunset to record the activities of the storks on the ponds.

She is lucky to have a loving partner who always supports her choice and helps her achieve her dream of becoming a photographer. Her husband Nguyen Duc Quang is technically savvy and has the ability to self-learn very quickly. To help her pursue her passion for photography, he went online to learn about camera techniques and computer-based photo editing techniques to teach his wife. According to him, his wife is a determined student and persists in learning until she achieves success. Admiring Bich Cuong for her patience, love for photography, and birds, Quang has always been her companion on her career paths.

Hundreds of artistic photos on the subject of nature are the precious heritage of the female photographer. Persistence and non-stop creativity have brought Vu Bich Cuong remarkable results. That is the work "The stork season" exhibited at the Red River artwork exhibition in 2020, "Homeland Song", and "Country Painting" at the Quang Ninh art photo exhibition, the set of photos "Stork Wings on Ha Nam Island" "Consolation Prize of Quang Ninh Press Prize in 2019, the set of photos "Stork season on Hoang Tan Island" was published in Hoa Sen special magazine.

The series of water birds below are the latest photos taken by artist Vu Bich Cuong in the lagoons and canals in Song Khoai commune, Quang Yen town. These photos also show that Quang Yen's environment is being preserved, a home for many species of birds, which needs continuous attention.
