With a visa:

For foreigners, overseas Vietnamese who already have a valid permanent residence card, temporary residence card, visa or visa exemption certificate, they may enter according to the provisions of the Law on Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit, and Residence in Vietnam (not required to apply for approval of immigration policies of ministries, branches and localities and carry out procedures for personnel inspection at the Immigration Department)

Without a visa:

Provincial People's Committees continue to consider and approve to create favorable conditions for cases of entry to work, attend conferences, seminars, study, humanitarian in the province;

Ministries, branches and agencies under the Central Government shall proactively decide on the invitation, welcome and take responsibility for managing foreigners working with their agencies.

Who can enter Vietnam?

- Foreigners invited and guaranteed by agencies, organizations and individuals in accordance with the Law on entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam;

The Vietnamese government released Decision No 450/VPCP-QHQT (Decision 450) on January 18 to ease admission processes for foreign employees and overseas Vietnamese families.

The administration has agreed to make it easier for foreigners and overseas Vietnamese returning to Vietnam to enter the nation, according to the decision.

This means that foreigners and overseas Vietnamese, as well as their relatives, who have valid temporary residence cards (TRCs), permanent residence cards (PRCs), valid visas, and valid visa exemption certificates, will be able to enter Vietnam without obtaining permission from the immigration department or the local people's committee.

Local people's committees should continue to assist entry for foreigners without visas, including approvals and instructions on how to enter, according to Decision 450.

Businesses and people should be aware, however, that entry requirements for those without TRCs or PRCs remain unchanged. Foreign newcomers are still subject to Covid-prevention methods, which include quarantine at their place of residence (with ward level authority clearance) or three days in a hotel for fully vaccinated individuals.

Foreign visitors must also have adequate health insurance and pay for all essential tests, which includes a negative RT-PCR test 72 hours before to arrival.

Is it necessary for me to complete the Medical Declaration Form for Vietnam?

What to do after I receive my E-Visa for Vietnam?
