Ho Chi Minh City Presented “Vietnam Bookcase” to Swiss University

"Vietnam Bookcase" is a valuable resource for Swiss students to learn about the history and culture of the Vietnamese people.

On October 15, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - National University of Ho Chi Minh City organized a ceremony to present the "Vietnam Bookcase" and many typical Vietnamese cultural and historical items to University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland.

"Vietnam Bookcase" is a project built by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, including 47 titles of books, 4 paintings, and 6 gifts that introduce typical features of Vietnamese culture and history to international friends.

Among these are famous novels and short stories of Vietnamese literature that help readers have a better understanding of the life and psychology of Vietnamese people from the past to the present.

Along with that are pictures and typical Vietnamese items such as Ao dai, a four-piece dress, ba ba shirt and bandana, conical hat, lotus flower, bronze drum...

According to Associate Professor. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, "Vietnam Bookcase" has a few literary, artistic, and historical works translated into English. The bookcase will be located at the library of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong presented the symbolic sign "Vietnam Bookcase" and typical items of Vietnamese culture and history to Professor. Dr. Andreas Hinz, Director of the MBA Program of the Faculty of Business, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland.

Professor. Dr. Andreas Hinz said this bookcase is a valuable source of documents for the University's students and Swiss people in general when learning about the history and culture of the Vietnamese people.
