Furthermore, other tourist attractions, including assembly halls, ancient houses, temples, and pagodas have also resumed operation.
According to VOV, Truong Thi Ngoc Cam, director of the Center for Culture - Sports and Broadcasting - Television of Hoi An, said that during the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, the ancient town welcomes an average of 1,200 to 1,500 visitors daily. Indeed, the reopening of the pedestrian street is being done in an effort to avoid traffic chaos impacting the experience of visitors.
Despite easing restrictions, the town has not relaunched the sale of sightseeing tickets for tourists wishing to visit the old town, although tickets to the two assembly halls of Fujian and Quang Trieu have gone on sale for VND20,000.
Following this, the Assembly Hall of Fujian and Quang Trieu sold 1,000 tickets and 300 tickets on the first day, respectively.
Cam added that the ancient town is still fully decorated with lanterns, and fresh flowers, while restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops are to operate as normal in order to serve visitors.
Other major cultural activities will return to normal depending on developments relating to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In an effort to ensure the safety of guests during the current epidemic, relevant forces will be positioned in order to remind visitors to abide by COVID-19 epidemic measures.

Before that, Hoi An Town closed its pedestrian zone from February 4 until further notice in the wake of new Covid-19 community transmissions in the country, according to VnExpress.
Nguyen Van Son, chairman of the ancient town, a major tourist attraction in Quang Nam Province, signed a document stopping all "non-essential" gathering activities.
The order was issued after the country's latest Covid-19 outbreak spread to eight localities since last Thursday though Quang Nam is yet to record any cases.
The document also suspended all cultural, sports and humanitarian assistance activities. Those who had to attend necessary meetings must wear masks and take all other preventive measures. It said events like street art festivals, cuisine festivals, and senior fitness competitions would be postponed.
This step had been taken with an eye on the festivities that take place around the Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet, which peaks on Feb. 12 this year.
Quang Nam identified 71 people returning from the northern Covid-19 hotspots of Quang Ninh and Hai Duong. All of them tested negative for the novel coronavirus once.
Many northern localities like Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Son La and Cao Bang decided to cancel crowded spring festivals as well as sports and entertainment activities as the country grapples with a rapidly spreading Covid-19 outbreak.
The Health Ministry confirmed 40 new Covid-19 community transmissions in three localities Tuesday evening, with Hai Duong still accounting for the majority.
The northern province, the biggest Covid-19 hotspot, hosts 38 of the 40 new cases. Its neighbors Quang Ninh and Hanoi have one each.
At least 28 localities in Vietnam allowed students stay home after the Tet break which wrapped up on Tuesday amid the complicated development of the pandemic. Schools had been scheduled to resume on Wednesday.
Vietnam has recorded as many as 719 locally transmitted Covid-19 cases since community transmissions reemerged in the nation on January 28 after 55 consecutive clean days.
Vietnam's total Covid-19 infection tally is now 2,311 with 699 active cases. Around 128,000 are in quarantine nationwide, either in hospitals, quarantine zones or at home.
