Hon Chao, also known as Hon Son Cha is located about 12 km to the north of Da Nang city center. This island is the natural boundary between Hue and Da Nang and a part of Hai Van pass extending to the sea, according to Du lich Vietnam (Vietnam Travel).

From above, Hon Chao looks like an upside-down pan. This is the reason why it is called “Hon Chao”.
Reaching to Hon Chao is quite easy as it is only 500 meters from the mainland. Tourists can go on a cruise ship or canoe.

The island covers an area of 60,000 m² and is enveloped by black cliffs and green primitive forests.
