India daily weather forecast latest, February 18: Moderate showers and thunderstorms to cover some areas
According to Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is over Vidarbha and adjoining area. A trough is extending from the southeast Arabian Sea to the cyclonic circulation over Vidarbha across coastal parts of Kerala and interior Karnataka.
Fresh Western disturbance is seen over North Afghanistan and adjoining north of Pakistan. An anti-cyclone is over the south coast of Odisha.
During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and shower may occur over parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, south-east Madhya Pradesh, parts of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and parts of Marathwada may receive intense spells of rain and thundershower associated will hailstorm activities.

Light rain may occur over coastal parts of Karnataka, Kerala and adjoining parts of interior Tamil Nadu.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands may also receive one or two short spells of the intense shower. Maximum temperatures of North-West India will remain above normal.
Very light to light rains/thundershowers occurred at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh in the past 24 hours, the Meteorological office said on Wednesday.
Thunderstorms lashed a few places over western UP, they said, adding that dense to very dense fog occurred at isolated places in the same region.
Day temperatures rose appreciably in Prayagraj and Jhansi divisions while there was no large change in the remaining divisions of the state.
They were appreciably above normal in Moradabad, Agra, Meerut divisions; above normal in Varanasi, Lucknow, Bareilly divisions; below normal in Jhansi division and normal in the remaining divisions of the state.

The minimum temperature in the state was 7.4 degrees Celsius at Muzaffarnagar while the maximum temperature at 30.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at Varanasi.
The department has forecast that the weather is likely to remain dry with shallow to moderate fog very likely in the morning at isolated places over eastern UP and the weather is most likely to be dry over western parts of the state on Thursday, Hindustan Times reported.

According to Weather.com, parts of central India are likely to experience wet weather conditions for the next 24 hours. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a strong wind discontinuity in the lower levels over central India along with the moisture inflow from the Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move southwestward and persist up to February 18.
Under its influence, light to moderate rainfall at a few or many places with isolated thunderstorms, lightning and hail are expected over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours.
Moreover, light to moderate rainfall at a few places with isolated thunderstorms, lightning and hail are likely over Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra on February 17-18. Similar conditions will prevail over Jharkhand, Telangana and North Interior Karnataka on February 18.
Owing to these rough weather conditions, an orange alert has been placed over west Madhya Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra for today.

Meanwhile, a feeble western disturbance is expected to bring isolated rainfall or snowfall over Uttarakhand on February 17-18.
Low wind speeds and high relative humidity will allow dense fog to form in some pockets of Punjab on the morning of Wednesday and Thursday. Dense to very dense fog is also possible over some isolated of Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and west Uttar Pradesh in the morning hours of February 18.
Arunachal Pradesh is expected to experience some isolated snow due to a feeble but persistent cyclonic circulation for the next couple of days.
Maximum temperatures will be cooler than normal by up to 8°C across much of central Highland and Deccan Plateau from Thursday to Saturday. Minimum temperatures will be warmer than normal across much of the country during this forecast period.
