India daily weather forecast latest, February 1: Widespread thundershowers to cover plains of northwest India in days
According to Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over Assam. A trough is extending from the equatorial Indian Ocean to the south-west Bay of Bengal near Sri Lanka coast. A cyclonic circulation is seen near south Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining Marathwada.
During the next 24 hours, isolated light rain may occur over parts of Chhattisgarh, coastal Odisha, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, east Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, parts of Andaman and Nicobar Island, and South Tamil Nadu.
Light rain may commence over Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and isolated pockets of Ladakh.
Cold wave conditions are expected to continue over Punjab, Haryana, part of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and isolated pockets of Gujarat.

Ground frost will continue over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, parts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Widespread thundershowers are expected over the plains of northwest India between February 3 and 6, according to India Meteorological Department.
A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan region from Sunday night. Under its influence, scattered rain or snow with moderate thunderstorm and lightning is likely over the hills on February 1 and 2, as per IMD.
Another western disturbance, in quick succession, is very likely to affect western Himalayan region from February 2 and the plains of northwest India from February 3. Due to this, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain or snow with isolated thunderstorm and hail is likely over the western Himalayan region during February 3 to 5.
Due to interaction of south-westerlies associated with this Western Disturbance and lower level south-easterlies from the Bay of Bengal, widespread light to moderate rain/thundershowers is likely over the plains of northwest India and adjoining central India during February 3 to 6 with maximum intensity on February 4, as per IMD bulletin.

Dense to very dense fog was reported at some pockets over Uttar Pradesh and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and moderate to dense fog was reported at some pockets over Bihar and Tripura on Sunday morning.
Zero visibility was recorded at Siliguri/Bagdogra at 5:30 am on Sunday morning. Bareilly, Bahraich, Lucknow, Sultanpur, Gorakhpur recorded less than 25m visibility; Purnea and Malda recorded 50m visibility; Patna, Gaya and Kailashahar recorded less than 200 m visibility, while Delhi recorded visibility under 1000m.
5-Day Nationwide Weather Forecast
A fresh Western Disturbance (WD) brings light snow or rain over Western Himalayan Region from Sunday and Monday.
Another WD is set to follow by Tuesday and bring isolated to fairly widespread snow or rain across northern India from Tuesday onward. Scattered rain or snow with isolated thunderstorms is forecast over Western Himalayan Region from Wednesday to Friday.

Isolated rain is likely over Tamil Nadu from Sunday to Tuesday and over Andaman & Nicobar Islands over the next five days.
Dry weather is likely other areas. Dense Fog lingers over plain areas of northern, north-central and northeastern India for the next 2 to 3 days. Dense to Very Dense Fog is likely over isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim and some pockets of Delhi, Punjab and Haryana on Sunday and Monday.
Low-temperature conditions are likely over northern, central, northwestern and northeastern India in this period. Delhi witnessed a significant drop in nighttime temperatures on Sunday at with a minimum of 3.1°C—five units below normal. Low temperature tendency is forecast to ease from Wednesday onward.
Maximum temperatures are -2 to -4°C lower than average over north-central and northeastern India in this period and northern India from Sunday to Wednesday. Minimum temperatures are lower below average over central and northeastern India from Sunday to Tuesday.
