The image of tourists in front of Ben Thanh market, which was normal in the years before the pandemic, was extremely rare in 2020 and 2021. Therefore, their return is a joy not only in the tourism industry but of the whole economy of Ho Chi Minh City

The presence of international tourists makes Ben Thanh market very lively. Luong Thi Thanh (46 years old) selling clothes at Ben Thanh market for more than 10 years, shared that the 2-year period of the epidemic was an extremely difficult time for her as well as many other small traders at this market.

“I had to witness the scene of Ben Thanh market without tourists during the epidemic to appreciate what we have at the moment. Although the number of visitors to the market has not reached the same level as before the epidemic, I hope that from now until the end of the year and also next year, the state of the city's tourism industry will gradually improve," said Thanh.

This is a good opportunity for businessmen like me to develop our shop and "revive" after the pandemic."

Bui Vien is located in the Western Quarter including a large area in the city center, with streets such as Pham Ngu Lao, De Tham, Do Quang Dau, and recently expanded through Cong Quynh, Nguyen Cu Trinh, and Tran Hung Dao.
