In a letter to the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Japan-Vietnam Peace and Friendship Promotion Council (JVPF) expressed sadness upon hearing the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's passing.
"During his lifetime, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's journey coincided with the liberation and unification of Vietnam, as well as the economic and social development of Vietnam. In particular, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has led Vietnam in an increasingly globalized and complex world situation with a diplomatic policy that is flexible and resilient, like a bamboo tree. JVPF and JVPF members respectfully pray for the repose of the soul of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong," the letter reads.
In a letter to the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations (DAFO), Miyahara, President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Kawasaki city said he and members of his organization were deeply saddened to know of the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. "I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to Mr. Trong's family, every member of DAFO, and the people of Vietnam," he wrote.
