Kim Ji Eun - Nguyen Tuong Vy is the pioneer in building the first standard Korean international school in Vietnam.
Her greatest wish is to build a Vietnamese language school for Vietnamese children in Korea so that the cultural distance is brought closer and the position of Vietnam's people is enhanced. This is also an inspirational story on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea.
Supporting Vietnamese brides in Korea
Before coming to live and work in Korea, Nguyen Tuong Vy spent a long time studying in Germany. There, she meets her partner, who is Korean. In 2007, she first arrived in the Land of Kimchi, changing her life forever.
Having the ability to speak foreign languages, understanding the culture and customs of both Korea and Vietnam, Nguyen Tuong Vy decided to volunteer for 6 years at the center for Vietnamese brides in Korea.
“There was a time when I suffered from psychological stress while working at a counseling center for women residing in Korea. Sometimes I have to listen to both phones, one side listens to the husband talking, the other side listens to the wife. Both claim to be right, they argue. I also don't understand why I love and start to do charity work," Nguyen Tuong Vy said.
Just like that, working as a consultant and legal aid for 6 years for Vietnamese people, then Nguyen Tuong Vy passed the exam, officially recruited into the Korea Supreme Prosecutors' Office and then working as a secretary for the Supreme Court. She specializes in handling cases involving Vietnamese people. The name Kim Ji Eun also started from there.
Although living abroad, Nguyen Tuong Vy always looks back to her homeland. Every year, she spends her savings to build a bridge, a kindergarten or support children in difficult circumstances.
"In my mind, something like that suddenly came for me, no one told me to do anything," she said.
Being a Korean of Vietnamese origin, Nguyen Tuong Vy always aspires to return to Vietnam to do something for her homeland. |

This year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea, and the two countries have also upgraded their relations to a "comprehensive strategic partnership". Therefore, I feel happy when I can build a lovely house like this”, said Nguyen Tuong Vy.
