K'Long K'Lanh is the name of a bridge, a forest ranger station, and a village in Da Chais commune (Lac Duong). The local people fondly called it “Long Lanh” (Sparkling) to describe its romantic and peaceful look, covered with clouds and thick mist.

Tourists will have a chance to learn about the unique culture of the K'Ho people. The villagers mainly live on farming and animal husbandry, leading a rustic and tranquil life in the eyes of the tourists coming here.

Travelers can also explore the traditional stilt houses of the K'Ho people, made of wood and thatched roofs. These houses are decorated with unique motifs, expressing the outlook on life of this ethnic group.

Because of this unique beauty, K'Long K'Lanh became the main background in several Vietnamese movies and was warmly welcomed by many young people. In addition, the cold weather, with temperatures ranging from 18 to 22 degrees, is also an ideal place to escape the heat during hot summer days.

From Dalat, tourists can follow Highway 27C to Nha Trang. After about an hour of driving, they will go through many winding roads and reach the K’Long K’Lanh village in about 1 or 2 hours.

Stepping into the village, travelers will feel like they are lost in a fairytale-like world, completely separate from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a wonderful corner hidden among the vast mountains, forests, and lush green valleys.

The highlight of K'Long K'Lanh is the sea of thick floating clouds, often appearing in the early morning or evening. This is also a good time for cloud enthusiasts and those who enjoy cloud-hunting during this summer time.

Tourists can admire the sea of white clouds covering the entire valley, creating a poetic and romantic scene like a fairy tale. Each winding strip of clouds hugs the mountains and idyllic houses, which captivates the hearts of the natural lovers.

People also have an opportunity to learn about the unique culture of the K'Ho people. This ethnic minority group resides in various areas, ranging from the southern part of the Central Highlands and Lam Dong Province to several mountainous regions in the provinces of Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak, and Dong Nai.

According to scholars, the K’ho people are part of the Indonesian race and are co-owners of the Sa Huynh Culture. The group has been in existence for around 2,500 years, making it the oldest local group in the Central Highlands.

According to a survey of 53 ethnic minority groups in 2019, the K’ho ethnic group has a population of 200,800, including 98,569 men and 102,231 women. The average number of persons in a household is 4.5, and 88.9% of the population lives in rural areas.

The K’ho people hold the belief that all aspects of life are governed by supernatural forces. According to their spiritual beliefs, one side is represented by yang, consisting of gods who bestow blessings upon people, while the other side is cha, comprising evil spirits who bring bad luck to individuals.

K’ho men typically wear loincloths, and women wear short dresses. The loincloth is a broad piece of cloth, measuring 1.5-2 meters in length and featuring patterns along vertical strips, while the dress is a piece of cloth wrapped around the body, usually black with strips of white patterns. In colder weather, the people here wear an additional layer of a blanket to keep themselves warm.

Tourists can also participate in traditional festivals of the K'Ho people, held on special occasions such as the new rice festival. This festival is an opportunity for local people to have fun, entertain, and show gratitude to their ancestors.
