Korean Organization Donates Houses to Poor Households in Hai Duong

On July 16-17, the Center for Friendship Cooperation (Hai Duong Union of Friendship Organizations) coordinated with COPION (Republic of Korea) to inaugurate and hand over friendship houses to poor households in Tu Ky and Cam Giang districts in Hai Duong province.

According to the program, four families have received support to build new houses. The recepients includes Nguyen Thi Nha from Tien Dong commune, Dong Thi Thuy from Quang Trung commune, Nguyen Thi Bot from Ngoc Ky commune, and Nguyen Thi Theu from Hung Dao commune. They all faced extremely challenging housing conditions in their respective localities.

The four friendship houses each cover an area of 35-40 square meters. The construction cost for each house is 220 million Vietnamese Dong, funded by the Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) via COPION.

On the same day, COPION and the Industrial Bank of Korea contributed to the construction of a 58.7m² restroom facility with an insulated corrugated iron roof and the installation of sanitary equipment. They also provided equipment for the information technology room, which included 20 computers, 2 air conditioners, 20 tables, and 40 chairs. In addition, they installed a pure water filtration system at Hung Dao Primary School. Furthermore, they awarded scholarships of VND 1 million each to 10 underprivileged students excelling despite hardships. The total support provided to Hung Dao Primary School amounted to VND 770 million.

COPION has sponsored projects in Tu Ky district totaling VND 1.65 billion. Additionally, on July 17, COPION donated three friendship houses to underprivileged families in Cam Giang district and inaugurated a school toilet facility at Lai Cach Primary School.

The "Supporting Housing Construction for Poor Households in Tu Ky and Cam Giang Districts" project, funded by COPION through non-refundable aid, received approval from the Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee on May 10.

COPION is a non-governmental organization based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Founded in 1999, it is one of RoK's oldest and most esteemed NGOs. Since 2017, COPION has been actively involved in Vietnam, focusing on development support, humanitarian aid, and cultural exchange. The organization boasts considerable expertise in educational infrastructure projects, having constructed numerous classrooms and enhanced learning environments across various Vietnamese provinces and cities. Additionally, COPION frequently engages in community support activities in Northern provinces like Hai Duong and Phu Tho, earning high praise from local communities.
