Korean Tourists Favor Summer Vacation in Vietnam
According to statistics from Korean website "Yeogi Eottae", as of the end of April 2024, the number of bookings to visit Vietnam increased 3 times compared to the same period in 2023. Another Asian destination that experiences the same increase of Korean tourism is the Philippines.

This report is based on the results of analyzing the number of overseas bookings by Korean people from June to August, which is the peak period of the summer vacation season in South Korea. Meanwhile, the number of reservations in Japan only increased 2.1 times over the same period last year.
Statistics from the Yeogi Eottae website published also showed that in the Philippines, during that period, the number of reservations increased 3.1 times compared to last year. In Vietnam, this number increased 3 times. As travel demand is concentrated in short-distance tourist destinations, 'lead time' (the period from booking date to check-in) has shortened more than in 2023.
Kim Yong-gyeong, representative of Yeogi Eottae, the increase in demand of tourists to travel to Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam this time of the year is very remarkable since the most common pick used to be Japan.
Meanwhile, Rankify Korea website has released a trend index ranking of Vietnam's favorite tourist destinations as of the end of April. The trend index is calculated by adding the keyword search volume and the previous week's Google trend score.
