The article pointed out that Vietnam attracted 12.6 million visitor arrivals from around the world in 2023 thanks to traditional pho soup to the floating markets of the Mekong River Delta, the mountains of Sa Pa, and the formal imperial capital of Hue.
The article emphasizes that to attract the number of tourists exceeding expectations in 2023, Vietnam has implemented a visa-free travel policy and expanded the scope of benefits from this policy.
Specifically, Vietnam has simplified entry procedures on the online system and provides authorization to enter the country for 90 days compared with 30 previously.
In addition, Vietnam also waives visa entry to 13 countries and increases the stay of up to 45 days compared with 15 days previously. These included Germany, ROK, France, UK, Italy, Spain...
In the last quarter of 2023, the number of visitors from Spain increased by 90%, the UK by 48.6%, and France by 52%.
The article argues that this kind of policy has created more favorable conditions for tourists when choosing their next destination, which is also part of a long-standing approach.
At the end of the article, the author concludes that visa exemption is considered a policy to stimulate the economic growth of each country. For tourists, this policy is an incentive to explore and plan a future vacation.
Dishes like pho and bun cha, floating markets in the Mekong Delta, mountain towns like Sa Pa and Da Lat, and the ancient imperial capital in Hue lured 12.6 million visitors from all over the world last year. Visitor numbers were spurred by Vietnam’s extension of its electronic visa system, which made obtaining a visa much easier and expanded 30-day tourist visits to 90 days.
