“Melodies of Vietnam” Performed in Morocco
According to the Embassy of Vietnam in Morocco, the shows are part of a tour to serve overseas Vietnamese in Hungary and Morocco on the occasion of the Lunar New Year. It was organized by the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two music nights strongly impressed the overseas Vietnamese community and Moroccan and international friends. In the shows, viewers enjoyed the performance of professional and talented artists from the Military Music and Dance Theater and the Military Artist Delegation of Region 2. Some artists' names can be listed as singers Vu Thang Loi, Cam Tu, Bui Tuan Ngoc, Thu Huyen, Hoang Viet Danh, Hoang Hong Ngoc, director and guitarist Trinh Minh Uoc, with dancers Trinh Thai Nhi and Nguyen Tra My.
The show at the Mohamed V Theater in Rabat was attended by nearly 700 participants, including Mustapha El Ktiri, the High Commissioner of Veterans Affairs, leaders of Moroccan agencies and localities, more than 30 Ambassadors from other countries and many expatriates, Vietnamese students, Moroccan students who are practicing Vovinam and Vietnamese traditional martial arts.
The show in Casablanca had nearly 400 attendees, including the President of the Casablanca-Séttat Region, local leaders, expatriates, and Moroccan friends.

With songs, dances, and performances of traditional musical instruments, the artists brought the audience to visit different regions of Vietnam, from North to South, through the Central and Highlands. Participants can vividly feel the spirit of Vietnamese Tet and the excitement of welcoming the spring while enjoying the special gifts, which are familiar and popular songs like "Casablanca" or "A Ben Bladi” to the Moroccan people.

In particular, the medley of two Vietnamese songs named "My Vietnam” and “As if Uncle Ho was with us on the Victory Day" and the flags of the two countries hoisted created a special and emotional feeling to the audience, making the great ending to the show when many people went on stage to sing along with the artists.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy in Morocco collaborated with the Asian Moroccan Friendship Association to introduce to Moroccan and international friends the Lunar New Year, a unique cultural feature of Vietnam through the speech of Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha, videos shown on the big screen with an exhibition of Vietnamese products and typical dishes on Tet holiday.

Vietnamese people in Morocco were very excited and felt like they were celebrating Tet in their homeland. The Moroccan press and television have widely reported the event. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture of Morocco highly appreciated the quality of the performances and sent an invitation that Vietnam would send a delegation to participate in the Traditional Music Festival in July 2023.
Also on this occasion, the delegation of artists led by Nguyen Van Hai, Chief of Office of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese paid a visit to the Vietnam Village where many Vietnamese people are staying.
