From July 18-20, the 2023 National Conference on People-to-people Diplomatic Affairs of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) will be held in the central province of Binh Dinh’s Quy Nhon city with the coordination of Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee.

With the theme "Innovating and improving the operational efficiency of the system of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations," the conference will evaluate the results of the implementation of the Action Program of the system of the VUFO, implemented the Resolution of the the 13th National Party Congress and Directive 12-CT/TW, dated January 5, 2022 on strengthening the Party’s leadership to raise the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy in the new situation by the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.

At the same time, identify the requirements and solutions to innovate and improve the operational efficiency of the VUFO and its member organizations under the motto "Active, flexible, creative and effective.”

The conference is tasked with discussing, exchanging and developing orientations for the development of the VUFO's system by 2030 to continue promoting its key role in people-to-people diplomacy, one of three pillars of a comprehensive and modern Vietnamese diplomacy.

Attending the conference will be about 350 delegates, guests are leaders of the Central Committee for External Relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly and a number of central committees, ministries and branches; representatives of leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee and other departments, agencies and branches of Binh Dinh; representatives of member organizations of the VUFO at the central and local levels; leaders of departments, units and staff of the VUFO.

The 2023 National Conference on People's Foreign Affairs of the VUFO in Binh Dinh province is a successful continuation of the first national conference held in the northern province of Cao Bang in 2022.
