This is the third consecutive year that Sun Group has joined this meaningful activity.

Blue light - the color representing autism spectrum awareness - was simultaneously lit on Nhat Tan Bridge, Sun Grand City Thuy Khue Residence and Sun Grand City Ancora Residence in Hanoi; Bai Chay Bridge, Sun Wheel in Sun World Halong Complex in Quang Ninh; Sun Wheel in Asia Park - Asia Park and Novotel Danang Premier Han River Hotel in Da Nang.

Liting a blue light for autistic people over the years has become a global activity. Every year April 2, thousands of buildings and schools around the world, including famous works such as the Empire State Building in New York (USA), Chenghuang Gallery (China), Sydney Opera House (Australia), the tallest building in the world Burj Khalifa in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Petronas tower in Malaysia all lit blue. In Vietnam, there have also been many individuals, organizations, and groups responding to activities of blue light for autistic people over the years.

Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Huong, General Director of Sun Group, said: “We understand that besides the obstacles in communication and learning, community awareness is one of the biggest difficulties for autistic people. By lighting up a blue light of hope, we want to work together to bring a more correct and empathetic view toward the autistic community - the vulnerable ones in society ”.

Emphasizing the importance of increasing public awareness of autism, Mr. Ngo Duong, a representative of "Light it up blue " in Vietnam said, receiving incorrect awareness of the autism spectrum disorder can lead to unfounded criticism and stigma, harming and hindering autistic people's access to education and social integration.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in 2020, people account for 1/54 of the population. In Vietnam, there is no official study on the number of autistic people, but according to 2009 statistics from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, about 200,000 Vietnamese have experienced autism. According to the National Hospital of Pediatrics, the number of children coming for autism examination and treatment is increasing.

Therefore, raising awareness and supporting the autistic community is an increasingly concerning issue. In addition to the blue light activities, volunteers of the community for autistic children in Vietnam also regularly carry out activities guiding how to handle situations in dealing with autism, guiding parents to carry out the necessary administrative procedures for children with autism to be issued a certificate of disability, to be entitled to an appropriate protection regime.
