The delegation comprised representatives from 35 local agencies, organizations, clubs, businesses, and individuals, as well as 49 reporters from 35 central, military, and local press and radio agencies.

The mission's objectives were to organize patrols and manage the sea areas from Da Nang to Con Co, Con Co to Ly Son, and Ly Son to Da Nang. Additionally, they aimed to visit and send New Year wishes to the officers and soldiers at Radar Station 540 on Con Co Island (Quang Tri Province) and Radar Station 550 on Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai Province), which are under Regiment 351, Naval Region 3. The delegation also extended their New Year greetings to the government, people, and armed forces units on Con Co and Ly Son islands.

Officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3 will implement the program "Vietnam Navy Serve as Pillar of Support for Fishermen Venturing Offshore" by giving gifts such as firearm jackets, national flags, and ship mooring ropes. They will also organize propaganda and dissemination of laws for fishermen on the Con Co and Ly Son islands.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Head of Logistics - Engineering (Naval Region 3), stated that in addition to the prescribed standards, officers, soldiers, and island residents received meaningful and valuable gifts from the Ministry of National Defense, the Navy, the Naval Region 3 Command, and localities, political and social organizations, businesses, and individuals.

"Along with common necessities such as sticky rice, dong leaves, and green beans,..., soldiers and island residents often receive gifts with the strong flavor of the mainland or products from localities such as candied fruits, dried tea, coffee, orchids, and peach blossoms. These Tet goods and gifts not only help soldiers and island residents prepare for Tet but also have great spiritual significance," said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung.

According to Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Naval Region 3, the annual visit and Tet greetings to Con Co and Ly Son island districts is a journey to raise the sentiments, awareness, and responsibility of provinces, cities, agencies, departments, and all classes of people in preserving the Fatherland's sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands.

This journey effectively implements the country's strategy of socio-economic development, national defense, and security. The concern and sharing between the rear and the front, between the mainland and the remote islands, will contribute to encouraging officers, soldiers, and island residents to work, live, and celebrate the Lunar New Year with peace of mind, warmth, and happiness.

With the motto "Mainland Towards Remote Islands," especially in active response to the campaign "For the Homeland's Sea and Islands - For the Fatherland's Frontline," the Naval Region 3 Command has, over the past 10 years, coordinated to organize more than 300 delegations from provinces and cities in the central coastal region, businesses, organizations, and individuals both inside and outside the military. Over 3,500 delegates have visited, given gifts, and encouraged officers, soldiers, and residents on the Con Co and Ly Son islands.
