Online Video Contest “I Love Vietnam” Opened for Vietnamese, Foreign Citizens

The Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA) and the Motion Picture Association of America (MPA) have jointly launched an online video contest titled “I Love Vietnam” in an effort to elevate the images of Vietnam and its people, VOV reported.

It was launched by the leaders of the VFDA) and the the MPA in the Asia Pacific region during the opening ceremony of the Da Nang Asian Film Festival.

The contest also seeks to spread people’s love for the country, and at the same time promote Vietnam as an attractive tourist destination among international friends and an ideal venue in which to film major movies.

The contest is open to all Vietnamese or foreign citizens, especially filmmakers who will submit their video clips capturing the untapped beautiful landscapes throughout the country.

Answering the question "What do the organisers expect from the filmmaker's clip," representative of the organizing committee, VFDA Chairwoman Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, said that there are four highlights that the contest expects from filmmakers including Discover hidden treasures; Accept the extraordinary; Go beyond tourist attractions; Magnificent visual beauty; and Explore new filming locations.

Accordingly, in Uncover Hidden Treasures, the organisers want show them a secret place in Vietnam that filmmakers will immediately recognise as an unpolished gem. Lead them out of the beaten path and reveal a location waiting to be immortalized on the silver screen.

In Embrace the Extraordinary, do you know of a unique and unexplored place that would captivate the public? The organisers want to be fascinated by the extraordinary, the unconventional and the unbelievable, which you discover.

Go beyond tourist attractions means forgeting the tourist scenes that have been exhibited thousands of times. The organisers want you to go beyond the obvious and show us what's really special about Vietnam - something that will surprise and delight them.

Meanwhile, your work should be a great visual journey - a place that stands out without words, capturing the soul of stunning landscapes, vibrant colors and amazing scenery of Vietnam.

The organisers're on a journey to find uncharted territories for filmmakers. Take them to places they've never seen before, and show them why Vietnam has endless potential for unique and unforgettable movie sets.

Magnificent visual beauty: Your work should be a great visual journey - a place that stands out without words, capturing the soul of stunning landscapes, vibrant colors and amazing scenery of Vietnam.

The organisers said each video clip is required to last between 60 and 90 seconds, capturing the most vivid images, emotions, people, and culture in popular places nationwide by using any device available, such as camera, smartphone, or a more sophisticated device.
