From September 13 to 15, 2024, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Association held a "Mid-Autumn Festival" event for children of the Vietnamese community. Traditional festivities like cake sharing, lion dancing, and lantern parades created an engaging environment that helped the children gain a deeper appreciation of their cultural heritage.

Specifically, the Le Ngoc Theatre Troupe from Vietnam participated, showcasing special performances that facilitated cultural exchange between Vietnam and Malaysia. The Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Association initiated a fundraising campaign to aid Northern Vietnamese communities impacted by storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), exemplifying the spirit of compassion and reinforcing national unity within the overseas Vietnamese community.
In Germany, the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival was celebrated in major cities including Berlin, Cottbus, and Leipzig, creating a lively atmosphere that drew many teenagers, children, and their families. Besides the traditional cultural activities, a notable feature was the voluntary donations made by children, contributing their modest funds to assist Vietnamese individuals impacted by storm No. 3.

During the event in Berlin, almost 2,000 gifts along with hundreds of Vietnamese star lanterns were gifted to the children. Meanwhile, in Leipzig, students with outstanding academic records were awarded certificates of merit and zoo visit tickets as an incentive to maintain their excellent performance.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Vu Quang Minh and Minister Counselor Chu Tuan Duc both emphasized the importance of preserving cultural identity and teaching Vietnamese to the young overseas Vietnamese generation while expressing their gratitude for the community's devotion to their homeland.
In Brussels, Belgium, the Mid-Autumn Festival, hosted by the General Association of Vietnamese in Belgium (UGVB), served as a unique gathering for Vietnamese expatriate families to come together, exchange experiences, and bond. Amidst the lively atmosphere of La Petite Suisse amusement park, children reveled in the glow of star-shaped lanterns and the array of Vietnamese food stalls, all contributing to a festive and vibrant Mid-Autumn celebration.

An impactful activity at the fair was the sale of Vietnamese goods by the charity Friends for Vietnamese Kids, which aimed to gather funds for disadvantaged students in Bac Giang province.
During the program's opening ceremony on September 15, Huynh Cong My, Chairman of UGVB, requested a moment of silence from all attendees to honor the Vietnamese lives lost in storm No. 3. He urged the Vietnamese community in Belgium to uphold the tradition of mutual aid and to extend support to those in Vietnam's northern region who are severely impacted by natural disasters. The festival succeeded in raising a total of 1,110 euros (equivalent to 1,234 USD).
In Phnom Penh (Cambodia), the "Full Moon Festival" program organized by the Khmer - Vietnamese Association brought Vietnamese students at the Khmer - Vietnamese Tan Tien Friendship Primary School a complete Mid-Autumn Festival. The program space is bustling with fun activities and learning about the cultural meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Thach Thi Lan, the principal of the school, stated that although the facilities are limited, this year's event took place in the school's new auditorium. The children received lanterns and moon cakes and engaged in traditional games, which fostered greater enthusiasm for their ongoing academic efforts.
In Singapore, the Vietnamese community held a traditional Mid-Autumn Festival at the Vietnamese Embassy, creating a nostalgic space for children and guests. Activities like painting conical hats, crafting mooncakes, adorning lanterns, and sculpting figurines drew many children.
The Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore, Mai Phuoc Dung, highlighted the significance of preserving Vietnamese culture and language for the younger generation of Vietnamese living abroad in Singapore. He also urged the community to unite in supporting the homeland during challenging times.
During the festival, the Vietnamese community in Singapore lit candles in remembrance and made donations to aid fellow citizens in the homeland impacted by Storm No. 3.
