Towards the homeland
When the Covid-19 pandemic appeared in the Czech Republic, the Vietnamese community upheld the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance. They sewed millions of masks and raised money to help disadvantaged families affected by the pandemic.
The Vietnamese community has followed and expressed strong confidence in the measures taken by the Party, Government, and people in the country.
Nguyen Van Sơn, secretary of the Party cell at the SAPA Trade Center in the Czech Republic, said that with the determination of both the political system and the people, Vietnam has gained achievements in the Covid-19 fight and economic development.
He said: “Despite being far from the country for many years, the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic always follows and believes that the Government's measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic will continue to achieve effectiveness."

Nguyen Duy Nhien, president of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, said that the country was one of the regions worst affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, overseas Vietnamese in the Czech Republic and the world have always looked towards the Fatherland with practical contributions.
Homeland in the hearts of overseas Vietnamese
For expatriates, the Fatherland is the place they always remember. Therefore, Vietnamese people living in the Czech Republic have always worked hard, and looked for the opportunity to contribute to their homeland.
The Covid-19 pandemic caused Vietnamese businesses in the Czech Republic to struggle. However overseas Vietnamese are always willing to support and share difficulties with their homeland. |
Having lived and worked in the Czech Republic for more than 35 years, Le Anh Hung said that although facing many difficulties, he still had a strong desire to do something for his homeland.
Recalling the early days of working in a foreign land, he considers himself lucky to have other Vietnamese and friends supporting him in difficulties.
"That gratitude makes me feel that I need to make efforts to achieve success in study and work, to help Vietnamese people living far away from home as well as contribute to the homeland in the future," Hung said.
Currently, he and his friends have invested in several tourism business projects in Vietnam. These not only create more jobs for workers but also strengthen the development of economic and tourism potential.
He also participated in activities to support Vietnam in floods and the pandemic and participated in organizing rescue flights to bring Vietnamese people back home from the Czech Republic. He joined hands to call on the Vietnamese community to contribute to the vaccine fund to fight Covid-19 in Vietnam.
President of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic Nguyen Duy Nhien said: “The most practical action of expatriates is to support and help each other. The community looks towards Vietnam with specific actions such as supporting the vaccine fund with an amount of VND 500 million (US$22,075). That is the responsibility, the mutual love of people who share the same bloodline."
The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic also showed their love for the country by cultivating knowledge. This is for each individual to become an important link, contributing to the preservation and development of the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
