Vietnamese people in Japan donate to support Covid-19 vaccine fund
The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held a launching ceremony to support the Covid-19 vaccine fund. Right at the launching ceremony, all officers and employees of the embassy and representative agencies of Vietnam in Japan donated nearly VND 105 million (US$4578); Vietnamese businessmen and expatriates in Japan have donated more than 2 million yen (US$18,154) to the fund.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam called on all officials and employees of the Vietnamese embassy and representative offices in Japan, along with the Vietnamese community in Japan to actively support the country's pandemic prevention and control. This is aimed at the dual goal of pandemic prevention, people's health protection, and socio-economic recovery and development.
Many Vietnamese in Japan have expressed their feelings about contributing to the Covid-19 fight in their homeland.
Nguyen Xuan Yen, an overseas Vietnamese living in Saitama province, said: “I am an overseas Vietnamese living in Japan. We look forward to participating in supporting Covid-19 prevention efforts in Vietnam so that the pandemic can end quickly.”
In addition, overseas Vietnamese also expressed their strong confidence in the Government's effective disease prevention measures. At the same time, they hope that with the cooperation of the Government and people at home and abroad, Vietnam will soon overcome the pandemic.
Hoang Dinh Giang, chairman of Yo Group, said: “I find the Government's Covid-19 prevention measures very effective. As an overseas Vietnamese living in Japan, I came here today to respond to the donation movement to support Vietnam's Covid-19 vaccine fund. I hope with the efforts and joint efforts of the Government and people, we will quickly overcome the pandemic.”
On this occasion, Ambassador Vu Hong Nam highly appreciated the awareness of pandemic prevention and the spirit of solidarity and mutual love among the Vietnamese community in Japan after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, due to compliance and full implementation of preventive measures, the number of Vietnamese infected with Covid-19 in Japan is not much and no deaths have been recorded.
Japan will provide free vaccinations for everyone, including the expatriate community living in Japan. In the coming time, the Vietnamese Embassy will coordinate with VANJ (Vietnamese Academic Network in Japan) to support the Vietnamese community in order to protect the health of workers and international students in Japan.
Vientiane province (Laos) donates US$10,000 to Hai Duong for Covid-19 prevention and control
On the afternoon of June 14, in Vientiane, Ambassador of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos Trinh Thi Tam received Thongsavanh Vongsamphan leading the delegation of Vientiane province to give 100 million Lao kip (equivalent to US$10,000) to Hai Duong province for the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the ceremony, Thongsavanh Vongsamphan said that when he heard that Vietnam had to cope with the fourth wave of Covid-19 outbreaks, especially Hai Duong province faced many difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the party committee, the government and people of Vientiane province have launched donations and support. After a short time of launching, the amount of 100 million Lao kip (US$10,000) has been donated to share and support the government and people of Hai Duong province in the prevention and control of Covid-19.

The Vientiane provincial delegation also expressed hope that Vietnam would quickly control and repel the panemic so that people could return to normal life soon. Lao people as well as people of Vientiane province always attach great importance to the special relationship with Vietnam.
On behalf of Hai Duong province, thanking Vientiane province for its timely support for Hai Duong province's Covid-19 prevention and control work, Ambassador Trinh Thi Tam affirmed that she would soon deliver the gift of gratitude from Vientiane province to Hai Duong province and hope that the relationship between the two provinces will develop more deeply.
Previously, on June 12, a representative of the Phongsaly provincial government went to the Vietnamese Consulate General in Luang Prabang to give an amount of 150 million kip (about US$15,900 USD) to support 6 provinces of Vietnam including Lai Chau, Son La, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen respond to the pandemic. On June 11, a representative of the Luang Namtha provincial government also went to the Consulate General of Vietnam in Luang Prabang to give 300 million kip (about US$31,900) to support 4 provinces of Vietnam including Dien Bien, Son La, Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic. |
