On the morning of June 11, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a ceremony to receive donations from the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic to support the Covid-19 vaccine fund.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, Nguyen Van Tam, vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic and Ta Pham Bich Thuy, Standing Committee of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic donatedf VND 500,000,000 (US$ 21,719) to support the Covid-19 vaccine fund.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu, chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the support, and sharing of Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that the State Committe would directly transfer the above amount to the Covid-19 vaccine fund as soon as possible.

Nguyen Van Tam said: "The gift of Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic is of little value, but it shows the affection and responsibility of expatriates to their homeland and country."

"As a large community in Europe with more than 60,000 people, Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic always look to their homeland with good feelings."

At the beginning of the outbreak in Vietnam in 2020, the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic donated medical supplies to support localities and sent about VND 2 billion to support the central provinces for flood recovery.

Immediately after the Covid-19 vaccine fund was established, the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic set up a campaign committee to organize donations for Vietnamese organizations and individuals in the Czech Republic.

Responding to the call of leaders of the Party, the Government and Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, at Dar es Salaam, the Vietnamese Embassy in Tanzania coordinated with Halotel Company (Viettel Tanzania) to organize a ceremony to support the Covid-19 vaccine fund with the participation of all employees of the two agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Tanzania Nguyen Nam Tien gave an update on the complex developments of the Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam, the government's firm policies and solutions to prevent and control the pandemic. He also shared the difficulties and sacrifices of the medical team on the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control over the past time.

Ambassador Nguyen Nam Tien affirmed that the Party and government would always consider the protection of people's health as a top priority.

The ambassador said he hoped that the Vietnamese community in East Africa would continue to respond to the campaign and make practical contributions to support the government and people in the fight against Covid-19.

Ambassador Nguyen Nam Tien suggested that the entire Vietnamese community in East Africa continue to promote solidarity and regularly implement pandemic prevention measures, showing full responsibility to family and society.

Previously, in response to the call for donations to support the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese Embassy in Tanzania sent a letter calling on individuals, associations and businesses in the Vietnamese community in Tanzania and East Africa to voluntarily participate in contributing and sponsoring the Covid-19 vaccine fund.
