Vietnam Summer Camp 2023
Overseas Vietnamese Youths Are Tourism Ambassadors of Vietnam
Overseas Vietnamese youth are an important force and the generation that will shape the Vietnamese community abroad in the future, stated Dinh Hoang Linh, Director of the Department of Information and Culture at the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs. Therefore, this summer camp is an occasion for overseas Vietnamese youth to experience Vietnamese culture, history, and heroic tradition, nurturing their love for the Fatherland and motivating them to act as tourism ambassadors of Vietnam abroad.
According to Linh, 2023 marks a thriving period for the Vietnamese tourism sector, having served nearly 6.6 million visitors so far, completing 83% of the target for the year. Vietnam has also been among the top searched destinations in the world.

Accordingly, overseas Vietnamese youth learned about safe tourism in Vietnam after the Covid-19 pandemic and the relationship between tourism and economic development through videos at the forum.
Hien Anh, an overseas from Qatar, who is studying hotel management, shared several solutions to promote Vietnam's tourism, such as further spreading information about Vietnam tourism through social media. Hien Anh hopes Vietnam to have more tourist destinations for young people.
Meanwhile, Huu Thinh, an overseas from Bulgaria, suggested that the Vietnamese tourism sector could coordinate with overseas Vietnamese businesses, such as eateries and restaurants, to promote the images of Vietnamese food and culture.

Many young people who joined the camp shared that they are proud to be Vietnamese. Through the event, their love for the Fatherland has grown due to the strong impression of the beauty of Vietnam and the friendliness and hospitality of Vietnamese people.
The summer camp took place from July 18 to August 2, bringing the students through 10 cities and provinces across Vietnam. The camp's organizers hope that overseas participants will gain a deeper insight into Vietnam, thereby proudly introducing to international friends an image of Vietnam with charming scenery, unique cuisine, and friendly people after the event. Thereby, they will contribute to promoting the image of a beautiful Vietnam to the world.
