PeaceTrees Vietnam Commits to Support Over US $26.3 Million to Quang Tri Province

At the reception, Executive Director of PeaceTrees Vietnam Mary Claire Yunker stated that the organization would continue to collaborate effectively with the local authorities in implementing post-war recovery activities.

Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri People's Committee Hoang Nam highly appreciated and thanked PeaceTrees Vietnam for its contributions in fostering the friendship between Vietnam and the US in general, and between Quang Tri and the US in particular, as well as for PeaceTrees Vietnam's support in post-war recovery efforts.

According to the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province, the projects implemented by PeaceTrees Vietnam in the province have brought practical effects in various fields, including bomb and mine clearance; bomb and mine awareness education; victim support; post-clearance development support; tree planting and friendship exchanges, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development and poverty reduction in the locality, and serving as a bridge of friendship between international friends and the people of Quang Tri.

PeaceTrees Vietnam has been accompanying Quang Tri for nearly 30 years in post-war recovery, positively contributing to the local socio-economic development and poverty reduction, and serving as a bridge of friendship between international friends and the people of Quang Tri.

PeaceTrees Vietnam has handled nearly 143,000 bombs and explosive materials, cleared over 2,700 hectares of land, provided emergency support to 220 bomb and mine victims, provided long-term support to 62 families, and credit loans to 250 families.

In addition, the organization awarded approximately 3,500 scholarships to students, built over 20 kindergartens, and supported nutritious meals to over 5,000 children at kindergartens.

PeaceTrees Vietnam set up 12 libraries for local women's community activities, one resettlement village, and two community houses, supported agriculture for 352 families participating in the Nutritional Vegetable Garden program, and assisted families in pepper growing, goat raising, and banana planting.

As of the end of March 2026, the total committed funding of PeaceTrees Vietnam for Quang Tri Province is over US $26.3 million.

The organization has currently collaborated with the province to implement the project titled "Bomb and Mine Clearance to Reduce Risks and Support the Socio-Economic Development Plan of Quang Tri Province in 2021-2025 period" with a total committed funding of US $14.5 million.
