This conference is held in the face of new developments that require more active, comprehensive, appropriate and effective solutions.

Addressing the opening session, PM Pham Minh Chinh stated that the new and more complicated situation of the pandemic requires more effective solutions. Only then can the pandemic be contained and repelled, especially in big cities and industrial zones, in the general spirit of fighting against Covid-19 stronger and faster.

Industrial parks in Bac Giang have a high density of workers, narrow, closed factory space, shared toilets, concentrated meals, shared cars, shared hostels. The province will control the pandemic in the near future, but not in the short term.

In Bac Ninh, Minister Nguyen Thanh Long is concerned that the infection from the community into the industrial zone tends to be more complicated.

According to the health ministry, in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang province, new cases will continue to be recorded because the source of infection exists for a long time and has a wide range. However, basically the two localities are trying to control the pandemic step by step.

The goal of creating herd immunity in 2021

Reporting on the implementation of the vaccine strategy, Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said that the goal is to create herd immunity in 2021, but the demand for vaccines in countries is very large and global scarcity shows no sign of abating.

In Vietnam, in addition to promoting domestic vaccine research and production, the Ministry of Health has actively negotiated and searched for all sources of Covid-19 vaccine in the world.

So far, Vietnam has signed and committed more than 100 million doses of vaccine to inject 70% of the population aged 18 and over. It is also trying to buy 40 million more doses to achieve the set target.

In addition, the progress of vaccine supply also needs to be paid great attention to so that the vaccine batches arrive as soon as possible. The Ministry of Health affirmed that priority should be given to Bac Giang and Bac Ninh to vaccinate people in these two localities as quickly as possible.

The Minister also emphasized that protecting industrial parks in the current context is very important to protect industrial production. Vietnam has identified the risk for industrial zones as the highest, which can spread very quickly and is difficult to control. The Ministry of Health has developed a detailed response scenario to the infection situation in the industrial park, the specific production separation plan in each factory and industrial park in case of Covid-19.
