At the meeting, Consul General Nguyen Quang Trung expressed his honor to receive Governor Janet Austin's precious time, announced his appointment as Consul General in Vancouver and conveyed greetings from Vietnamese leaders to the Governor.
The Consulate General of Vietnam highly appreciated the effectiveness of measures to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, especially the completion of the first vaccination of most of the population in the province, opening up the possibility of an early resumption of strong economic recovery activities.
Consul General Nguyen Quang Trung announced working meetings with ministers in the British Columbia (BC) state government and especially the meeting with Vancouver Premier John Horgan over the past time on priorities during his working term in order to promote promote and strengthen the good comprehensive cooperation relationship between Vietnam and BC.
Consul General Nguyen Quang Trung hopes that Vietnam will welcome the Governor to visit as a special guest to know more about the country and people of Vietnam and further strengthen relations between Vietnam and BC. Referring to the large and dynamic Vietnamese-Canadian community, the Consul General said that this will be a bridge for relations between Vietnam and British Columbia.
The Consul General wishes that Vietnam and Canada in general as well as Vietnam and the province of BC will have many substantive activities towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and at the same time wishes to receive the support of the Governor to fulfill the task to the best, contribute to strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and British Columbia province.
Janet Austin also highly appreciated Vietnam's very successful efforts in the previous stages of Covid-19 prevention and control and paid attention to the current difficulties in pandemic prevention and control.
Governor Janet Austin thanked the Consul General and expressed her wish to visit Vietnam in the near future, and also expressed her intention to receive the Consul General in person when social distancing conditions permit.

Promoting economic and trade relations between Vietnam and Venezuela
On June 15, the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela coordinated with the Venezuela-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CAVENVIET) to organize a webinar with the theme "Promoting B2B trade transactions between Vietnam and Venezuela."
The webinar is within the framework of economic diplomacy activities to raise the two countries' trade relations to a new height, to go into depth and effectiveness.

Speaking at the opening of the webinar, Ambassador Le Viet Duyen thanked Thai Binh Investment and Trade Joint Stock Company and HAPRO for accompanying the Embassy in the past time by providing information on Vietnam's export products, supporting and attending online seminars.
In the context of economic relations and trade exchanges between Vietnam and Venezuela having many positive changes, strengthening, exchanging information and trading opportunities between businesses of the two countries is very important. These will contribute to promoting the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
At the webinar, representatives of Thai Binh Trading Investment Joint Stock Company and HAPRO respectively presented about the process of business formation and development, focusing on the export of strong products and product positioning in international markets.
With extensive experience in operating in foreign markets, the two businesses also expressed their wish, through CAVENVIET, to connect with local partners and customers, increase exports of agricultural and household products, appliances and electronics.
For his part, CAVENVIET Chairman Oswaldo Hernandez pledged to do his best to concretize the proposals of Thai Binh Trading Investment Joint Stock Company and HAPRO, contributing to promoting diversification of the exchange of trade items, strengthening economic relations between Vietnam and Venezuela.
