Vice-Chairman of HCMC People's Committee Duong Anh Duc and Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in HCMC, the representative of the Singaporean Ministry of Education on April 9 signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on establishing the cooperation relationship between HCMC and the Singaporean Ministry of Education.
Under the MoU, HCMC People's Committee and the Singaporean Ministry of Education will enhance cooperation and support each other in the fields of general and higher education, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

Specifically, in the field of general education, the two sides will exchange knowledge and implement cooperative activities to improve the quality of teachers, supervisors, and educational administrators; promote the application of information technology into the teaching methods. The two will also share experiences in designing curriculum and stimulate exchange activities between students and teachers.
They will also foster cooperation to enhance the quality of HCMC’s higher education in selected fields; encourage joint research projects and the use of joint laboratories in areas of mutual interest. Educational seminars will also be held to beef up academic cooperation between the two sides and within ASEAN.
The HCMC People's Committee and the Singaporean Ministry of Education committed to working together to create, expand and improve the quality of education as well as collect and share experiences to address each side's educational challenges.
The agreement between the HCMC People's Committee and the Singaporean Ministry of Education will be effective for 5 years and possibly extended for another 5 years.
Earlier, a top educational institution in Mozambique is also expressing its wish to promote academic cooperation and student exchange activities with Vietnam universities.
Particularly, Maputo Pedagogical University, one of the leading universities in Mozambique, says the educational promotion would help diversify forms of educational cooperation between Vietnam and Mozambique as bilateral friendship has been growing stronger over the years.
Speaking at the meeting with the Vietnamese Ambassador in Mozambique Le Huy Hoang on April 7, Jorge Ferrão - the Rector of Maputo Pedagogical University – highly appreciated the outcome of the academic cooperation between the university and Vietnamese universities, especially the effectiveness of the lecturers and students majoring in Portuguese and Vietnamese exchange programs.

Professor Jorge Ferrão expressed his wish for Vietnam and Mozambique to continue to diversify cooperative methods, strengthen direct relations among universities in both countries, enhance experience sharing activities, including the application of digital technology in teaching.
On his part, Ambassador Le Huy Hoang welcomed Maputo Pedagogical University’s proactive promotion initiatives. He also spoke highly of the university’s annual programs to grant scholarships to Vietnamese students.
Numbers of Vietnamese students graduating from Maputo Pedagogical University have had great contributions in bridging the two countries’ friendship, participating in practical bilateral economic cooperation. The Ambassador hoped Maputo Pedagogical University and other universities in Mozambique would grant more scholarships for Vietnamese students in the future.
Founded in 1985, Maputo Pedagogical University is the first and only public university in Mozambique specializing in teaching methods for all educational levels of the National System of Education (SNE).
