Suspected Indonesia COVID-19 case in HCM City testing negative

The man who came to work in Vietnam from Indonesia has been confirmed negative for the novel coronavirus after taking a second test on June 1 night, according to the Ministry of Health.
All 145 people who had come into close contact with him also tested negative for the virus.
The results were confirmed on July 2 morning after Ho Chi Minh City-based Pasteur Institute conducted a Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and an Elisa test on the man’s samples, reported the vnexpress.
The 31-year-old man landed in Viet Nam on March 11 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. He lived at Au Lac Hotel in My Phuoc Ward, Ben Cat Town, and worked in Binh Duong province. The man was diagnosed with mild coronavirus symptoms at a Family Medical Practice clinic in Ho Chi Minh City on June 30 before leaving for Indonesia.
He was immediately transferred to the Binh Duong Provincial General Hospital for medical observation. He is now in stable condition.

The 145 people who had close contact with this man imclude 132 colleagues, company leaders, drivers, and workers; seven people at the hotel; two others at a restaurant; and four staff of Family Medical Practice at District 2.
With the Indonesian confirmed as negative, Vietnam has gone 77 days without community transmission.
The nation’s tally now stays at 335. Of them, 19 are active cases after 326 have recovered.
The latest recovery, announced on July 1 afternoon, is a 24-year-old returnee from Kuwait. He was confirmed as a COVID-19 patient on June 17 and has been treated at the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases since.
