Switzerland’s Associazione ACTI Espérance has for many years sponsored the construction of many classrooms, many wells, and bridges, contributing to Vietnam's provinces of Kien Giang and Long An in completing the criteria of building new rural areas.

The delegation of Associazione ACTI Espérance on June 27 and 28 visited their funded projects and surveyed new projects proposed by the Kien Giang Union of Friendship Organizations and the Provincial Vietnam - Switzerland Friendship Association, along with the Provincial Department in the districts of Hon Dat, Giang Thanh and Go Quao.

According to Chairwoman of the Kien Giang's Vietnam - Switzerland Friendship Association Nguyen Thi Tuyet Van, over the years, the Associazione ACTI Espérance has mobilized funding and effectively implemented a number of projects in Kien Giang province such as the construction of bridges, schools, wells, water filtration systems, herbal medicine rooms, to name a few.

Through field surveys, the working group noted that implemented projects are operating effectively, creating conditions for people to improve their lives. For new projects, they also took notes and will respond later.

It is expected that in August 2024, the Swiss association will provide funds for a domestic water treatment project in Kinh 4 hamlet, Binh Giang commune, Hon Dat district.

The project has a total value of VND 605.5 million (USD 23.700), of which Associazione ACTI Espérance will assist VND 515.5 million (USD 20.200) and local counterpart capital was VND 90 million (USD 3.530).

According to data from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Kien Giang Union of Friendship Organizations, Associazione ACTI Espérance supported a number of local projects on building water wells, and kindergartens, contributing to the locality completing the criteria for building new rural areas with a total funding amount of more than VND 6.2 billion (USD 243.500) by 2023.

Previously, in Long An province, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations coordinated with the People's Committee of My An commune and the Swiss association to inaugurate the water well project in Hamlet 3, My An commune, Thu Thua district.

After a period of surveying and constructing the project, Associazione ACTI Espérance agreed to sponsor it in the form of turnkey and the Provincial People's Committee approved the reception. Meanwhile, the water well project in hamlet 3 has been under construction and now completed, meeting the needs of clean water for daily use and ensuring the health of the people here.

Water well construction project in hamlet 3 serves 198 households with 812 people, including 237 students who are using water from local residential wells.

At the inauguration ceremony, President of Associazione ACTI Espérance, Ivan Schick expressed his satisfaction regarding the completion of the water well project in hamlet 3, My An commune, stressing that is the motivation for the association to continue spreading beautiful images, and calling for the donation to contribute to the implementation of subsequent projects in Vietnam, including Long An province.

He also thanked Long An for cooperating and supporting the association in implementing recent projects in the province.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of Thu Thua District People's Committee - Phan Van Toi invited the Swiss delegation to survey the rural traffic bridge connecting two communes of My Thanh and My Lac and the rural traffic bridge at Muong Dao Ngon, Hamlet 4, Long Thuan commune. The construction of the above two rural traffic bridges will contribute to helping the locality complete the criteria of building new rural areas.
