Tet Celebration Held for Vietnamese in Denmark
The Vietnamese Embassy in Denmark organized a “Xuan Que Huong” (Homeland Spring) programme on January 28 with the participation of about 200 overseas Vietnamese, representatives of the Denmark-Vietnam Friendship Association and Danish friends as Tet (Lunar New Year), the biggest traditional festival for Vietnamese people, is nearing.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi appreciates the contributions of the Vietnamese community in the north European country to the bilateral relations, expressing his delight that the overseas Vietnamese in Denmark have stayed united, supported one another, and integrated well into the host society.
The diplomat extended Lunar New Year greetings to all overseas Vietnamese, adding he hopes that the Vietnamese community in Denmark will continue to preserve the nation’s cultural identity and contribute to the national construction and development.
Representing Vietnamese expatriates in Denmark, Tran Huong Lien said that Vietnamese expatriates in Denmark always look towards their homeland and country and feel happy and excited about the achievements of the homeland and Vietnam-Denmark relations recently.
On behalf of the community, Lien expressed her gratitude to the Party and State for always paying close attention to the Vietnamese community abroad, including overseas Vietnamese in Denmark, and always considering overseas Vietnamese is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese people.

On behalf of the young generation of overseas Vietnamese, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Vice President of the Vietnamese Women Federation in Europe, and Vice President of the Association of Vietnamese Experts and Intellectuals in Denmark, reported on some outstanding activities of the community in 2023.
Hien said he was very happy and touched when the young generation of overseas Vietnamese in Denmark increasingly actively participated in activities organized by the Embassy, as well as other community activities to strengthen the Vietnamese community in Denmark, making practical and specific contributions to the homeland and the country.
According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, the country's achievements in recent times have created great trust and pride for young overseas Vietnamese, experts, and intellectuals studying and working abroad with the desire to contribute to the future development of the motherland.

Participating in the Homeland Spring program, overseas Vietnamese and Danish friends had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Tet dishes such as banh chung, and fried spring rolls, enjoy many cultural performances such as performing solos on the zither, t'rung, violin, singing songs about love for the homeland and the country that Vietnamese expats orchestrate, perform themselves to show off their artistic talents and emotional attachment to the homeland.
