The event saw the attendance of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, Vice Admiral, Deputy Minister of National Defence Pham Hoai Nam, President of Vietnam Women's Union Ha Thi Nga, Former Deputy Minister of National Defence Nguyen Huy Hieu, and other representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Central Propaganda Department Vietnam, Central Mass Mobilization Commission of Vietnam and Vietnamese Journalists Association among others.
The art program “The Heart Towards Seas and Islands 2021” contributed to the connectivity between the Vietnamese mainland to other islands far away and the organizers expected it could encourage cadres and soldiers who are conducting missions of protecting the country’s airspace, waters, islands, and borders.
The event also conveyed the message and deep affections of the mainland people to the cadres and soldiers who are guarding the islands of the country day and night. In any circumstances, the hearts of all Vietnamese people always turn towards the Vietnamese sea and islands, standing side by side with officials, soldiers, and people in remote islands to firmly protect Vietnam's territorial sea and islands.
The program is staged with special artistic performances divided into 2 chapters: Chapter 1 "The Sea and Islands - The Heart of Vietnam" and Chapter 2 "Heart towards Seas and Islands – Infusing Fire into Hearts" which includes songs about love for the sea, patriotism which were sung by famous actors and singers, creating the whole of a majestic, attractive, emotional show for viewers.
Excellent performances featuring famous artists namely People's Artist Quoc Hung, Trong Tan, Lan Anh, Tan Nhan ... were regarded as gratitude to heroic martyrs, who dedicates his life to the cause of protecting the seas and islands as well as promote patriotism among Vietnamese students in protecting seas and islands of the country.

Speaking at the event, vice president of Vietnamese Journalism Association Ho Quang Loi affirmed that late President Ho Chi Minh’s saying left imprints in the mind of each Vietnamese citizen who acknowledges that Vietnam’s territories today and ever after are including the land, the airspace, the sacred seas, and islands. Therefore, journalists should always encourage the spirit of patriotism and national pride through their articles. At the same time, there are also many media works to further beautify the image of our country to international friends, including a proud image of the airspace and seas and islands of the Vietnamese Fatherland ”.

The defense of sovereignty and territorial integrity imposes an urgent task of constantly consolidating and strengthening the nation's strength, building an all-people defense posture at sea. In particular, building up the position of people's hearts, ensuring firmly that the mission of protecting the sovereignty over the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland is a strategic, urgent, and key issue.
Therefore, in order to promote the advantages of combining with the immediate and long-term protection of the sovereignty of Vietnam's sea and islands, the program is a meaningful activity to contribute to improving the will of self-reliance and actively participate responding to activities towards the sea and islands of the people strata. This also shows gratitude to heroes and martyrs who sacrificed themselves to keep the flag of the Fatherland fluttering on their home islands. Since then, fostering today's young generation of patriotism, creative spirit, rising to achieve new miracles in the work of building a mighty country.
