Do Thi Ha, Miss Vietnam 2020

Vietnamese representative Do Thi Ha is due to compete in the upcoming Miss World 2021 beauty pageant which is scheduled to take place from November 19 to December 17 in Puerto Rico. Miss Vietnam 2020 Do Thi Ha, a student at the Hanoi-based National Economics University, is working to prepare for her appearance at the Miss World 2021.

“Whether I am a role model to young Vietnamese people or not, I must be someone who motivates and inspires youth. I believe I can do it,” said Ha, 20, at the final round of Miss Vietnam 2020 organised in HCM City last November.

Miss Vietnam began in 1988 and is organised every two years by Tien Phong newspaper. The contest encourages young women to demonstrate their talents in their careers as well as charity and social activities, as vietnamplus reported.

"I aim to introduce Vietnamese culture and lifestyle to the world,” said Ha, adding that she has worked to improve her knowledge, English, and physical beauty to compete at Miss World 2021.

Over 120 contestants from across the world are due to participate in various sub-contests at the global pageant, including sports, talent, and fashion, with the event being held at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve.

The marks Puerto Rico’s first time hosting the occasion, which will be the 70th iteration of its kind, according to organisers.

In the build up to the function, Missosology, the world’s leading magazine on beauty pageants, named Do Thi Ha among its Top 7 Second Hot Picks, alongside the contestants from Indonesia, India, and South Africa.

Do Thi Ha, 20, goes into the global contest having been previously been crowned Miss Vietnam 2020. The local beauty stands at 1.75 metres tall and measures 80-60-90, as reported by VOV News.

Pham Ngoc Phuong Anh, the first runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2020

The first runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2020 Pham Ngoc Phuong Anh of HCM City was assigned to go to the Miss International 2021, which was initially planned to take place in Japan in November.

The Japan-based Miss International pageant announced on Tuesday, August 31, that it has decided to cancel its 2021 edition, citing "health and safety issues" and "the ongoing global impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic."

The 2021 pageant was supposed to be held in fall 2021. The 60th Miss International Beauty Pageant will be held in the fall of 2022. The last edition of the Miss International pageant was held in 2019. The title is currently held by the winner of the 2019 pageant, Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand.

Anh, 23, is a student at RMIT University Vietnam and is fluent in English and French. In many rankings of beauty forums about at Miss International 2021, Miss Phuong Anh always wins a high position. Born in 1998, she stands at 1.77 metres and measures 87-61-93. With her outstanding body, Phuong Anh is expected to shine at the Miss International 2021 contest alongside beauties from all over the world.

Phuong Anh was noticed in Miss International 2021 when her image was constantly updated on the homepage of the contest. Phuong Anh was impressed by her English ability when livestreaming with the director of the Miss International contest. She also showed an impressive ability to speak Japanese after only a short time getting used to this language.

In addition to her beautiful and charming beauty, Phuong Anh's strength is her outstanding education. In March, she officially graduated from RMIT University with the highest ranking of Business Information Systems. The beauty lives in Ho Chi Minh City, she is the valedictorian in the bilingual block of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted in Ho Chi Minh City. She is highly regarded for her education, having won numerous awards for excellent students and bilingualism with IELTS 8.0 (English), DALF C1 (French, equivalent to IELTS 8.0).

Miss International is the third largest beauty pageant (after Miss World and Miss Universe), first held in 1960. The pageant is held annually in Tokyo, Japan. In 2019, the program attracted 83 entrants, the highest number in the competition’s history. Tuong San – the representative of Vietnam – was ranked in the top 8, won the “Best National Costume” award with the “Dragon’s Ao dai” by designer Ho Hoang Ca Dao. Vietnam’s highest result in this competition is the third place Thuy Van took in 2015.

Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, top 5 contestants back in Miss Vietnam 2018

Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, the Vietnamese contestant at Miss Grand International 2021, 23, has measurements of 83-62-92 cm and was one of the Top 5 contestants back in Miss Vietnam 2018, before going on to represent the country at the Miss International 2018 pageant.

Miss Grand International 2021 is scheduled to get underway in Thailand on December 4. Back in the 2020 version of the international pageant, Vietnamese beauty Ngoc Thao secured a Top 20 finish.

According to vietnamnet, the Vietnamese contestant at Miss Grand International 2021, has released outlines of the two outfits she will wear during the upcoming national costume segment of the global beauty pageant set to take place in Thailand later this year.

The two outfits Thuy Tien will wear have been produced by designer Tin Thai, with the first piece being a bodysuit which features both an impressive and modern style.

The outfit draws inspiration from the blue protective gear worn by frontline workers during the COVID-19 fight and aims to send a message of thanks to healthcare workers who spent the last year working to control the pandemic.

The highlight of the outfit includes two wings and gloves to show the great determination of people around the world to eliminate the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen, the runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam 2019

Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen, the runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam 2019, will represent the country at this year’s Miss Universe global event, to be held in the resort city of Eliat in Israel this December.

Duyen said she has kept practising after winning the runner-up title at Vietnam Universe 2019, as she wants to be ready for the big event.

Speaking to Radio the Voice of Vietnam online newspaper vov.vn, the Vietnamese candidate said she has worked on bodybuilding, speaking in English, and other skills.

She hopes to beat the remarkable achievements of previous Vietnamese representatives such as top 5 at Miss Universe 2018 H'Hen Niê, and top 21 at Miss Universe 2020 Nguyen Tran Khanh Van.

Originally from the southern city of Cần Thơ, Duyen was the first runner-up at Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 – the national competition which selects contestants to compete at the Miss Universe pageant.

Talking about her own strengths, as reported by vietnamnews, Duyen thinks she is good in connecting with people, which means that she is very open and "easy to get to know and get along with".
