Tourism allowed in set areas across Vietnam

Many central provinces plan to welcome guests outside the province with green and yellow cards, while the North and South are largely about open intra-provincial tourism.

Tourism allowed in set areas across Vietnam

From Oct. 1, Hai Phong will reopen tourist attractions and scenic spots in the province, serving guests in the province. Guests and direct instructors must ensure one of the following conditions: a negative test result for SARS-CoV-2; received 2 full doses of vaccine or are certified to have recovered from Covid-19. The accommodation must only organize on-site dining and only serve guests who are staying.

In Bac Giang, many tourist areas and attractions reopened from Sept. 30 to serve guests in the province. Specifically, the spiritual-ecological tourist area of Tay Yen Tu (Son Dong) and the community tourist site of Ven village (Xuan Luong commune, Yen The), and from Sept. 12, Suoi Mo eco-tourism area (Luc Nam) and golf courses in the province were operational.

Many other localities such as Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh and Thanh Hoa have also allowed tourists to return. Some resorts in Sa Pa (Lao Cai) and Hoa Binh will welcome tourists in green areas with negative test results for SARS-CoV-2.

In Hanoi, accommodation areas and major entertainment spots have not been operated yet.

However, people in the capital can go to outdoor relaxation spots or campsites in Soc Son, Dong Mo and Ba Vi, and make sure not to gather more than 10 people together at the same time.

In the Central region, from Oct. 1 to October 15, guests in Khanh Hoa province with a Covid-19 green card (with injections) or a Covid-19 yellow card (with one injection) can visit tourist establishments in isolated areas.

From Oct. 1, in Thua Thien Hue, the Citadel and some mausoleums of the Nguyen Dynasty reopened after a 4-month shutdown. The Citadel relic site, and the the mausoleum of King Minh Mang, Tu Duc and Khai Dinh will be open, but visitors can only visit the outdoor area, not the palaces.

The province also allows restaurants and cafes to open after 10 p.m. with a capacity not exceeding 50%.

From October, Quang Binh province allows businesses to welcome vaccinated tourists to come and join closed tours. Specifically, customers who have had two injections are granted a green card, customers who have just received one injection will be granted a yellow card, requiring rapid test or negative RT-PCR. These visitors will stay and participate in closed tours.

From Sept. 30, Da Nang allows people to swim from 4:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. and leave immediately, without fresh water bathing, gatherings, or playing sports at the beach. Hotels and accommodation establishments may reopen but not in more than 30% of the existing rooms.

In Lam Dong, the provincial People's Committee has reopened services related to tourism and restaurants. Guests in the province are allowed to visit tourist attractions, accommodation establishments of 2 or more stars, each room has a maximum of 2 guests, the capacity is not more than 50%. Restaurants and sidewalk shops can serve no more than 50% of the number of people at the same time, and can only arrange a maximum of 50% of the tables and chairs.

Binh Thuan province is piloting a project to welcome domestic and foreign tourists living in Vietnam with the requirement of meeting safety criteria, but from Oct. 20.

Destinations are for 3-5 star hotels or equivalent, travel services, and all attractions that meet safety criteria recognized by the Provincial People's Committee.

The pilot implementation area is mainly concentrated in Phan Thiet city. Districts and towns, depending on actual local conditions, may consider pilot opening.

In the South, from Oct. 1, Ho Chi Minh City will remove the inner city checkpoints, and people can travel within but are not allowed to go out of the city. Tourists in Ho Chi Minh City who have received two doses of the vaccine or have recovered from the pandemic (with confirmation) are allowed to visit accommodation facilities, resorts, and tourist attractions.

Restaurants in accommodation establishments, resorts and tourist attractions are only served on-site for guests staying and visiting.
