On May 30, in Hanoi, a delegation of lecturers and students from the O'neil School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University (USA) participated in the information sharing session "Vietnam's Modern History, Social and Environmental Development and Goals for the Future" presented by Tran Dac Loi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Peace Committee.
According to Tran Dac Loi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Peace Committee, during its history, Vietnam has experienced many resistance wars to protect the country. From a backward agricultural country, Vietnam has innovated and developed the country. To date, Vietnam has reached remarkable achievements: national GDP increased; poverty rate decreased; people's living standards, health care and education quality have improved.

On the same day, the delegation attended the information sharing session "Doi Moi; The Doi Moi Process in Vietnam & Vietnamese People's Perspectives on Globalization" by Bui The Giang, Vice President of the Vietnam - USA Society.
According to Bui The Giang, after 40 years of reform, Vietnam has carried out comprehensive reforms in many aspects: prioritizing economic recovery and development; completing the legal framework; focusing on human resource training; and reforming the management apparatus... Regarding foreign affairs, Vietnam has made many strong changes: strengthening relationships with partners; actively participating in multilateral forums; affirming that Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner, and an active and responsible member of the international community.
US lecturers and students expressed their excitement when learning about Vietnam's history, innovation, and development process; as well as the main contents of Vietnam - United States relations.
From May 21 to June 12, 2024, a delegation of lecturers and students from the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University (USA) visited and studied in Vietnam to learn about public and environmental management and operation of Vietnam's health system. The delegation attended lectures on Vietnam's history, culture, innovation, and international integration. In addition, the delegation will meet and interact with students at several Vietnamese universities, and visit and learn about reality in Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, and Thua Thien-Hue. This is the second group of lecturers and students from the university to visit and study in Vietnam. |
