Vietnam and Russia's FM discuss for deepening the cooperation

At the conversation, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov were pleased to see the comprehensive Vietnam-Russian strategic partnership increasingly deepening in essence.
The two sides agreed to continue working closely to promote the external activities of the two countries' senior leaders in the coming time and strengthen bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Vietnam-Russia Cross Year.
Regarding the prevention of the epidemic of Covid-19, the two sides exchanged measures to control the epidemic, pledged to support the citizens of the two countries and coordinate to promptly handle arising problems. The Russian Foreign Minister highly appreciated Vietnam's measures to prevent and control Covid-19, saying that these were valuable experiences to be shared.
The two sides agreed to continue working to promote the external activities of high-ranking officials of the two countries in the future and to enhance bilateral cooperation under the framework of the Vietnam-Russia Cross Year 2019-2020 also known as the Vietnam Year in Russia and the Russia Year in Vietnam.

Regarding cooperation at the UNSC, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh highly appreciated Russia's role, position and contributions in the international arena and expressed thanks for the valuable support that Russia has been giving to Vietnam in the process of campaigning for and participating in the UNSC, especially when Vietnam took on the role of the Chairman of the Security Council in January 2020.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister expressed his wish that in difficult times, UNSC countries, especially Russia and other powers, will find a common voice, contributing to preserving and promoting an international environment of peace and stability.

The two sides exchanged and assessed the activities of the UNSC in the past 6 months, discussed and exchanged information on hot spot issues such as Syria, Libya, Iran, Sudan / South Sudan ... and affirmed to continue working closely, sharing information on issues of common concern.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Pham Binh Minh sent an invitation to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to attend ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM) in early August 2020 in Vietnam.
