At the invitation of the Ministry of People's Power for Indigenous Peoples of Venezuela and the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group, the delegation of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council led by Vice Chairman Nguyen Lam Thanh, head of the Vietnam-Venezuela Friendship Parliamentary Group, paid a working visit to Venezuela from August 3-5.

At the meetings, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council Nguyen Lam Thanh emphasized the purpose of the visit to promote the friendship and cooperation between the Council and the Standing Committee of the Ministry of People's Power for Indigenous Peoples of Venezuela, as well as between the two Friendship Parliamentary Groups of the National Assembly of the two countries.

The visit thus contributes to deepening the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Venezuela.

Briefly introducing the policies of the Party and State of Vietnam towards ethnic groups and always areas, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council said that the Vietnamese Government paid attention to and implemented many ethnic guidelines and policies, contributing to the stable development and improvement of all aspects of the material and spiritual life of ethnic groups.

According to Nguyen Lam Thanh, ethnic work and national unity always played a strategic role in the Vietnamese revolution, to uphold the principle of equality as well as strengthen solidarity through mutual respect and development.

Since the implementation of the renewal process, the Government of Vietnam always paid great attention to, prioritized policies and investments in comprehensive socio-economic, political, cultural, defense and security development for ethnic groups and country areas.

Nguyen Lam Thanh emphasized that the Communist Party of Vietnam attached great importance to, and determined that external relations on the Party channel will create a solid political foundation for state relations, orienting bilateral relations between Vietnam and other countries to develop stably and sustainably.

With the solidarity and support that the Venezuelan people and progressive forces have given Vietnam in the previous struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as in the national construction today, he expressed his wish that the two sides continue to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, maintain mechanisms and agreements to further strengthen multi-faceted cooperation, such as the political consultation between the two foreign ministries, the working mechanism of the Intergovernmental Committee.

The two countries expand cooperation in other fields such as culture, education, and sports, and work closely in international forums and organizations.

On the Venezuelan side, senior leaders of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) welcomed and appreciated the working visit of the Communist Party of Vietnam delegation.

They emphasize that the visit and work of the delegation, the exchange of delegations between the two countries will contribute to consolidating and deepening the relationship between the two parties, as well as the Venezuela-Vietnam comprehensive partnership.

At the meeting, PSUV First Vice President Diosdado Cabello and Venezuelan leaders both expressed their special affection for President Ho Chi Minh.

They admired the previous cause of national liberation, reunification, and the renewal process initiated and led by the Communist Party of Vietnam, and confirmed that Vietnam will continue to be an example for Venezuela and the PSUV to follow.

Speaking at the meeting, Cabello confirms that he always attaches importance to the good traditional relationship and comprehensive partnership with Vietnam.

He hopes that the two ruling parties, PSUV and the Communist Party of Vietnam would continue to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations, and share experiences in Party building, state management, and mass mobilization.

The two countries expand their economic, trade, and investment cooperation, especially in areas with strengths and potentials such as oil and gas, agriculture, and economy-trade.
