Flights transporting COVID-19 vaccines given priority
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has sent a document to the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), and airlines requesting the facilitation of flights transporting COVID-19 vaccines.
The CAAV said that with the Government’s policy of encouraging the importation of vaccines, the number of flights bringing vaccines to or through Vietnam will increase in the time ahead.
In order to ensure the effective operations of these flights, airlines must adopt signals that help air traffic service operators better identify flights carrying vaccines.
The ACV has been urged to create the most favorable conditions in terms of infrastructure for these flights, while the VATM is required to direct air traffic service facilities to establish landing priority for these flights, to shorten the transportation time, and ensure the quality of vaccines.
