Vietnam Culture Day held to mark Vietnam – Greece diplomatic relations

The Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece on October 14th officially organised the Vietnam Culture Day as part of activities to celebrate the 40th year of establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece on October 14th officially organised the Vietnam Culture Day as part of activities to celebrate the 40th year of establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Over 400 guests, including high-ranking Greek officials; members of the Greece – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group; members of the Greece – Vietnam Enterprises’ Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Lap (Kostas Sarantidis), Honorable President of the Greece – Vietnam Friendship Association and hero of the people’s armed forces; together with Greek intellectuals, enterprises, partners and friends.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece Tran Thi Ha Phuong reviewed the relationship between Vietnam and Greece over the past 40 years, saying that the two countries possessed many opportunities for development in their political relations as well as in culture, economics, trade and tourism.

Addressing the ceremony, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hoang Tuan Anh affirmed that the Vietnamese Government and people attached great importance to reinforcing the current solidarity and friendship with the Greek Government and people, expressing his hope that the traditional relationship between the two countries would continue to develop positively in the same vein.

On behalf of the Greek Government, Greek Minister of Culture and Sports, congratulated Vietnam for its achievements during its national safeguarding and construction, showing the Greek Government’s desire to promote a comprehensive relationship with Vietnam, and he congratulated the success of the Vietnam Culture Day.

Under the program, special art performances were run by artists from the Vietnam National Music, Song, and Dance Theater. Traditional musical instruments were used to perform Vietnamese and Greek traditional songs and dances.

In addition, an exhibition on Vietnam’s nature, country and people was also be held during the program, arousing great attraction from Greek friends./.
