The program saw the attendance of Indian Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam Subhash P. Gupta, Vice Chairman of Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations Tran Thi Phuong, Chairman of Vietnam- India Friendship Association in Hanoi City Phan Lan Tu, Director of Hanoi Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center G.B. Harisha, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association in Hanoi City Do Tien Dinh along with numerous members of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association in Hanoi.

The program aimed to enhance the friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries as well as to realize the cultural exchange promotion content which is included in the Joint Vision Statement for Peace, Prosperity and People approved by the two nations’ Prime Ministers in December 2020.

Indian Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam Subhash P. Gupta said “the exchange program today is really meaningful, especially when the Vietnamese traditional New Year is drawing near. It marks the close relationship and cultural exchange between Vietnam and India. In the previous online meeting, two countries’ Prime Ministers concurred to build an encyclopedia to archive documents about the typical cultures of the two sides. The program today also aims to contribute to this goal”.

Special art performances from the students at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center and members of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association in Hanoi.

In addition to the art performances, delegates also listened to presentations on traditional dances of Vietnam and India. Indian dance, which has existed for more than a thousand years, praises the Gods and human’s industriousness and bravery in preserving independence and freedom.

On this occasion, Meritorious Artist Nhu Binh introduced to delegates some Vietnamese traditional dances such as “Múa hoa sen” (Lotus dance), “múa sạp” (dance between bamboo poles), etc.
