Vietnam International Awards Ceremony Takes Place in UK

In its third year, the Vietnam International Awards program has attracted nearly 200 nominations around the globe. Out of 60 nominations for the finals, 12 winners were announced in the categories and 2 special categories for leadership achievement and lifetime dedication. The jury of the Vietnam International Prize is made up of leading and prestigious professionals currently working in UK and UN government agencies.
At the event, the Organizing Committee presented the Community Ambassador Award to Quynh Nguyen, CEO of the Vietnamese Family Association (VFP). VFP is a volunteer organization that teaches Vietnamese, organizes activities to promote Vietnamese culture and provides support services to Vietnamese people in the UK.

The Creative Art Award was presented to Toucher Art Project (France) - An international and intercultural project founded by French-Vietnamese musician Hoang Thu Trang. The project, which actively promotes Vietnamese culture to the world, has attracted more than 20,000 participants and raised VND 250 million (about £ 7,600) to support orphans and disabled children in Vietnam.

The Excellent Restaurant Award was given to Nguyen's Sandwiches - Vietnamese Bread founded by Nguyen The Huynh. This Sweden-based Vietnamese restaurant chain is famous for its fresh loaves of bread produced daily according to traditional Vietnamese methods. It has also initiated the Giant Pho Bowl contest to honor Vietnamese culinary culture abroad and has received many certificates of merit from the Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden in recent years.
The Excellence in Education Award was presented to The Project Darts, a project that trains, advises and supports Vietnamese students in the UK in their career development.

Kevin Nguyen, an 8th grader from Nantes, France, won the Young Achievement Award. Currently studying saxophone in his 6th year at the Nantes City Music Institute, Kevin has made many contributions to the promotion of Vietnamese culture through his musical talent as well as fundraising activities to support disadvantaged children.
The Global Charity Excellence Award is given to the Blue Dragon Children's Foundation. This is an Australian charity that has been operating in Vietnam since 2002 to support disabled children, street children and victims of human trafficking.
Romania-based nominee named Nguyen Thanh Nga won The International Cooperation Alliance Award for her outstanding businessman - community activist who has carried out many business cooperation projects and charity activities in Europe, Romania and Vietnam.

Katrin Kandel, CEO of Facing the World (FTW), received the Innovation of the Year award. FTW is a charitable organization established in 2002 in the UK, specializing in supporting surgeries for Vietnamese children with congenital maxillofacial deformities, providing professional training for Vietnamese surgeons and sponsoring medical equipment and technology for telemedicine for Vietnamese hospitals.

Professor Michael Mainelli (UK) received the Special Lifetime Achievement Award. Speaking at the ceremony, the British professor said he was honored to be nominated and received the award even though he had not contributed as much as he would like to contribute to the promotion of Vietnam-UK relations, especially in trade cooperation.
Mainelli stated that he highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community in the UK in contributing to the diversity and richness of London's life and culture. He also expressed hope that London can help enrich the lives of people in Vietnam.
Some highlights at the ceremony are the performance of designer Lan Huong's Ao Dai collection of Prosperous Planet, a Vietnamese art performance to introduce the beauty of Vietnamese culture to international friends and charity fundraising auctions from Love Collection and Fusian.
The Vietnam International Awards is an annual award established in 2022 to promote the image, enhance the understanding and contributions of overseas Vietnamese, and promote connections within and outside the overseas Vietnamese community in other countries. It was co-founded by Hoang Ha, Vice President of the Union of Vietnamese Women's Associations in Europe and Nguyen Nhu Thoai, Founding President of the Vietnam Association of Women and Children in the United Kingdom. |
