During his long trip in Vietnam, Stephen had the opportunity to closely admire the stunning scenery of rainforests across the S-shaped country. “Vietnam boats hundreds of species of plants and animals discovered within the last three decades.
The picture is among the photo series taken by photographer David Rama Terrazas used in Stephen’s article. It depicts the landscape of Mua cave, Tam Coc cave, and Ninh Binh looking from a high spot at Cuc Phuong National Park. Stephen can also see hundreds of storks underneath, as reported by VNE.

Vietnam’s forests shelter dozens of primate species, including apes, monkeys and langurs. Many species boast flamboyant furs, the typical feature of tropical primates. In the picture is a brown-footed langur in Cuc Phuong National Park with black fur and a vividly face with make-up on.

Cuc Phuong, known as Vietnam's first national park, is located in the south of Hanoi. Founded in 1962, Cuc Phuong forest is kept almost intact, housing many rare species of fauna and flora. “Forest is gold. If we know to conserve and manage it properly, it will be very valuable”, Stephen wrote.

Within a walking distance from Cuc Phuong is Bich Dong Pagoda – the home of many birds. In the summer, herds of storks and bitterns would fly to the pagoda area to build nests and lay eggs.

Stephen Nash also visited Tam Dao National Park during his stay in Vietnam. The wildness, quite a scenery along the roads and the year-round sea of clouds right within reach will make the way leading to Bich Dong Pagoda more challenging and exciting for adventure lovers.
