Vietnam is ready for dialogue on human rights

The Party and State of Vietnam have consistent policies in ensuring human rights. Vietnam is ready for open, frank, cooperative, and constructive dialogue with all countries, even on differences, to enhance mutual understanding, and share good experiences in ensuring human rights.

The approach to human rights issues in each country is always different. Therefore, the most important thing is dialogue to reduce differences and find similarities to jointly promote the protection of human rights. Through dialogue, Vietnam will better understand the human rights of other countries, and at the same time, countries will clearly understand Vietnam's human rights achievements.

Besides dialogue, Vietnam also welcomes and creates favorable conditions for international delegations to go on field trips to witness human rights achievements in the country.

In June 2023, Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai, head of the Vietnamese Permanent Representative Delegation in Geneva, had a dialogue session with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights about the annual human rights situation report.

At this dialogue session, Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai affirmed that Vietnam is committed to working closely with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to resolve human rights issues.

Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai said that although Vietnam and other countries face many challenges in promoting and protecting human rights, Vietnam is still determined to ensure that its people fully enjoy human rights.

She also emphasized that Vietnam prioritizes focusing on strengthening the rule of law, transparency, security, and social safety as well as conducting necessary legal and economic reforms to support the recovery process after the pandemic.
