Accordingly, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam - Romania, the Association has planned to implement many activities; however, due to complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of them have been canceled or postponed. Despite many difficulties, the Association has organized many meaningful activities, especially donating to the Romanian people against the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to the report of Vice Chairman cum General Secretary Bui Trong Dinh, after receiving information from the Chairman of Romania - Vietnamese Friendship Association and through discussions with the Vietnamese Ambassador to Romania, the Vietnam - Romania Friendship Association realized the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania.

Therefore, on March 23, the Standing Committee of the Association held an online meeting and made a decision to call for donations for the Romanian people in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. After only three weeks, the campaign received enthusiastic support from many businesses, collectives, associations as well as those who have studied and lived in Romania. In particular, Tran Thi Thanh Nhan (also known as Ly Nha Ky), Romanian Honorary Consul in Ho Chi Minh City, donated 100 million VND.
