Vietnam - Romania Friendship Concert Held in Hanoi
The Vietnam - Romania Friendship Concert was held on June 2 at the National Academy of Music (Hanoi). In her opening remark, Ambassador of Romania to Vietnam Cristina Romila emphasized that the program included famous works by Romanian and Vietnamese authors. They are performed by artists who have studied in Romania.
"They [the artists] are great cultural ambassadors. Through music, we [Romanians and Vietnamese] will understand each other and connect with each other," said Ambassador Cristina on the significant role of the event to people-to-people exchanges.
Meanwhile, according to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Vinh Hung, Vice Principle of the National University of Art Education, the friendship concert also help introduce the beauty of choir and chamber music to Hanoian audiences.

The show is inspired by the name of a Greek goddess "Harmonia" - a symbol of harmony. The stars of the show are famous conductor Pham Hoang Trung and pianist Hoa Ngoc Ha, lecturers of the National University of Art Education.
Some highlights of the concert include the 4-hand piano pieces by Vietnamese composer Dang Huu Phuc of Vietnam and Romanian composer Serban Nichifor. Another highlight was the performance by award-winning pianist Luu Duc Anh.

Speaking at the event, Romanian composer Serban Nichifor claimed that the concert's success is thanks to the harmonious collaboration between artists from the two countries.
"I am extremely honored and happy to be able to participate in this concert. The joy and honor are even greater when the works are performed by great artists, like Pianist Hoa Ngoc Ha, with whom I worked at the National University of Music in Bucharest," said Şerban Nichifor.

The Harmonia Concert was supported by the National University of Art Education together with the Romanian Embassy in Vietnam. Romanian Ambassador Cristina Romila believed that the event marked the cultural development between the two countries and wished to have similar events in the future.
Romania has friendly relations and good cooperation with Vietnam. It was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam in 1950 and always coordinate to boost cooperation in many fields such as trade, labor, and education. As of January 2023, there are about 5.000 Vietnamese people working in Romania, cited from Nhan Dan Online newspaper. |
