Vietnam Tank Team to Compete at Army Games 2022
The first crew of the Vietnamese tank team entered the International Military Games Army Games 2022 on the afternoon of August 13, 2022, at the Alabino training facility outside of Moscow, Russia. Many members of the Vietnamese community in Russia gathered to support the squad as the first turn of the tank competition got began.
At Army Games 2022, vehicle crews had to install machine guns themselves to conduct simulated shooting exercises of helicopters and anti-tank targets.

The 1st crew of the Vietnam Tank Team finished the contest with a provisional time of 34 minutes and 53 seconds, shooting down 4/5 target targets.

The Tank Biathlon will take place at the practice field from August 13 to August 27. On this occasion, the Vietnamese Tank Contingent and other competitors received technical knowledge and spent time learning about the locations and competition rules. Two groups made up of 21 contingents participated in the event this year. Azerbaijan, Belarus, Venezuela, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia are represented by ten teams in Group 1, while teams from Abkhazia, Armenia, Zimbabwe, Iran, Laos, Mali, Myanmar, Syria, Sudan, Tajikistan, and South Ossetia are represented by ten teams in Group 2. This year, Group 1 contingents will compete in the qualifying round, semi-finals (eight teams), and final round in accordance with the organizing board's rules (four teams). Group 2 only participates in the preliminary round of competition. The Vietnamese contingent will operate blue tanks and compete against their counterparts from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Venezuela, according to the lot-drawing results on August 8 at Patriot Park on the outskirts of Moscow. Four Vietnamese tank crews will take part in the competition this year. On August 13, the first crew will begin participating. |
