Vietnam, Venezuela Boost Agricultural Cooperation

The business trip is part of diplomatic and economic activities to strengthen bilateral trade relations.
At the meeting, Governor of the State Monagas Ernesto Luna informed about the political, economic and cultural situation in the area. He emphasized the state's economic potential in oil, gas, tourism, livestock and large-scale farming.
Governor Ernesto Luna said that the state of Monagas owns fertile soil and a temperate climate to produce and develop large-scale agriculture. He said that Monagas state currently has the highest growth rate in the country in the agricultural and industrial sectors, becoming a major attraction for foreign investors.
Ernesto Luna pledged that the state government would set up working groups to strengthen contacts, connect businesses of the two countries, foster specific cooperation and investment projects.

Ambassador Le Viet Duyen pledged to enhance trade between the two countries and the state of Monagas particularly on the basis of the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Venezuela.
The Ambassador also wished to replicate the agricultural cooperation project in Monagas state after it was successfully implemented in Guárico state.

On June 18, the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela held a seminar "Trade promotion of Vietnam's strong products".
Speaking at the seminar, Ambassador Le Viet Duyen informed about Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements after 35 years of renovation period, with a GDP of US$343 billion, among the 40 largest economies in the world and 4th in ASEAN. The income per capita in Vietnam has reached US$3,521. Vietnam is in its greatest position ever.
As one of the major production centers in the Asia-Pacific region and in the world, Vietnam currently ranks 2nd in the world in rice and coffee exports; world leader in exports of cashew nuts, pepper and many other agricultural products.
Vietnam is also the world's leading center for manufacturing and exporting high-tech goods, smart phones, and electronics. There are many opportunities for Venezuelan consumers to use Vietnamese products.
Vietnam is also one of the major wood production centers in the world, opening up opportunities for Venezuela and the state of Monagas particularly to strengthen the export of suitable timber for Vietnamese manufacturers.
